TALK ABOUT HORROR! STORIES!!!! Almost shit my pants

Last night I picked up the blocks they felt way light so I decided to mix up some nutes, I fell asleep and when I woke up the lights were off in the grow room so I figures I am not going to water while lights off could cause problems, so I waited......Got up just now and walked in the room to find this!!!!!



Rock wool is absolutely UNFORGIVING!!!! They were perky and fine when I fell asleep, This is them yesterday.

It is amazing that small amount of time can make that much of a difference when needing to water.....

Wait wouldn't you want to water while the lights are off? Just like to prevent out door plants from burning water when before sun up or after sun down?

They aren't dead noob, just water them and they come back. Round up takes longer to kill them then that.

I posted this to show how easily plants can get dehydrated and the little amount of time it takes for rock wool to dry out to the point that your plants start to collapse, as with any plant if it starts to look dead because of dry soil 95% of the time all you have to do is water it and it will look back to normal pretty quickly

yeah reaction time is soo fast one of the reasons i love growing it, nice plants btw

I water when the lights come on so they take advantage of the drink while they are photosynthesizing.
My soil drains pretty quickly and do not worry about burning your plants with water.

I think that guy was meaning burning from splashing on the leaves.

Do you use perlite or anything in your mix? I was considering it as I'm getting ready to transplant but my soil literally drise completely out in 2 to 3 day given my desert climate, so now I'm thinking I'm probably good without, any opinion?

I was but I've realized careful watering makes it ok just probably dont want to foliar feed with lights on that makes more sense. still unsure about the correct time to water them charface has a point but live and learn I suppose.

I wouldn't worry about splashing PLAIN water on the leaves when watering.

I like my soil to drain faster. I have to water more often but worry less about soggy soil.
I think you are talking about outdoor watering habits. Some do it during the periods you mentioned to avoid it evaporating.
Outside I even put sod or something over the area. Inside I water and spray regular water all I want.
The fans help dry the water and I have never had a water burn. This has been discussed in a very violent manner before
but the long and short of it is marijuana leaves are not like some leaves with long ass hairs that hold water above the plant allowing the prism effect. Just do not spray the hot bulb and do not use neam oil or anything like that under the light and you should be fine. This is my experience but you do what you feel comfortable with

Char is correct in reference to water burn on leaves by refraction.
A challenge was issued some time back for someone to prove that it could happen & to my knowledge the myth was debunked rather soundly.

You must have left them girls for some time, because rockwoll holds water like no other medium; except soil. Plants in rockwoll can be watered almost like soil (once every 24 - 36) hours événements under 1000W lamp.

At least the ladies are perky gain.

Yea right under my avatar says how many journal entries I have just click on it to check them out.

And no they weren't too thirsty for long because they were standing straight up that night before. I let the cubes get really light before I water them. I pick up the entire plant and cube to tell if I need to water them.They needed water that night but i fell asleep and woke up when the lights were off so I waited until the morning.,
