Would I get more buds from my four plants filling up a 6x5 space or maybe 6 or 8 max growing thinner but the same heigth wise. I woundering if the out side branches might not support the weight

I don't understand completely. You have four plants (nice plants, btw). They are in a 6x5 space now? In veg still? If they are crowded and you can spread them out and still have light coverage, then spread them out for more air and light penetration. As for the side branches, you might have to stake them, wait and see. There's a product called Barricade I use. It's potassium silicate which strengthens cell walls; makes really strong branches. Excellent for pH up as well.

not sure i understand the problem?
if you want thicker stems try cutting the very top stem as low as you can get it to the branches underneath it. that will make the stem thicker therefore holding more weight. also these plants are very tall have you sex'd them yet? i don't see flowers yet? you can cut them all back , like i said that would help.
