That tall lanky plant needs more than an 80 setup. Also why not get good gear and learn the right way. I wouldn’t recommend purlple lights for anyone they’re just not worth it. I wouldn’t take them if they were free.I’d say a blurple cause it’s cheap and great for beginners, and with training you can get great results before stepping it up. Start slow! Spend 80$ on a light and learn a bit! Then if you like the hobby drop 4-500 bones on a serious setup
Craigslist is a good option. But a lot of people end up not liking the growing deal because of sub par equipment and skills. I know I would have been discouraged if I had started off with purple lights. Hps setups aren’t expensive and a much better option than purple leds.I’ve netted over a gram a watt from them, they’re great for beginners. I’m on quantum boards now, but for a beginner he shouldn’t spend a lot, he doesn’t even know if he likes the hobby yet, he didn’t pay much attention to this plant. Don’t invest in an awesome setup until you’re sure you want to do this, it’s a great hobby but very time consuming and these plants require your undivided attention.
@Lord - what is he supposed to do with an expensive setup if he doesn’t end up liking growing? He’ll be up shits creek without a paddle and out 500+ bucks.
If you don’t want him to use blurples, recommend him a cheap setup
