Yar, thats a 0.
Your heart is in the right place, but you have no clue...

Before you try again, sit and read everything you can about cannabis growing. While your reading, save your $$. get a nice light (Dont be cheap, this is the key to your whole success - its gonna run $100-$200)

READ READ READ READ READ - smoke - READ - plant!
once you know what your doing, come back and look at this thread...

Dont feel bad, we all did similar shit and failed...

well it seems as if everyone that commented on your shit is fuckin retarded because anyone that REALLY had a clue would not say that your plant would die due to a little stretching

You need to get some better lighting. I'm guessing you are on a budget, so go to Home Depot, Lowes, or WalMart and get CFL's. Get the highest watts you can. They are no more than $10. Get 3 and keep them about an inch away from the plant. It's gonna be hard to save that one...
dont listen to that bullshit man, take advice from someone w/ experience

what you actually need to do is add some soil to your pot so that the soil is about half way up that stem (and I KNOW this)

Yes, adding the soil may help. It also may not help, that stem had no intentions of being a root of that plant. Adding soil may also be the demise of that plant. It is just a newborn and has been exposed to a bunch of different stresses all ready! Have you ever added soil around a tree, making like a flower bed around it or for some other reason?? A lot of the times it kills the tree dead in no time! Not a 100% why but it is not recomended. Ive lost newborn plants to this b4 I knew what I was doing. It does work sometimes though. But, now that you have all those CFL's I would highly recomend starting some other plants. You might as well start some other plants anyway because you only have a 50/50 chance that thing will end up female. Sucks to grow a nice looking single plant only to find out that the baby actually has a dick!

anybody here w/ experience would say do the same, put some soil around it.

Im not saying bury the thing w/ some MUD, Im sayin, lightly put some dry soil around it.

Hmmm not sure why he says listen to someone with expirence as any grower knows that simply building the dirt up is not an answer but possibly a whole new problem.Just building the dirt up along the stalk can cause it to rot soften or die from disease so not sure what expirence grower he's learning from but not a good one lol. Then the comment about ignore all those thing people said.He asked for expirenced comments and got quit a few that were right on and even had backing as to why.But then again you always have a noob who grows with a table lamp bulb in a soda bottle overwatering the plant not checking what he's feeding it and wanting to know when next month he will be harvesting his pound of prestine high dollar weed.I would suggest reading up and following true growers as seems someone is on the course of teaching growing no nos to beginners...Good luck

i intentionally strecth my seedlings. i start at the bottom of a 6" pot. using an inch or so of soil i plant the sprout. as it stretches i bury it. i end up buring 6" of stalk before it is to the top of the pot. i often trim 2 - 3 bottom branches and bury that part of the stalk. works EVERYTIME.

this plant will be strecthed and buried to the top of the pot.

this is it when the pot is full.

you can repot to a slightly deeper pot and bury it up to the first set of leaves. it will be fine.

we wouldnt take advice from a 20 year grower would we FLETCH????

I hope that you can read because here is an experienced grower saying the same things that I have said, nice to know that someone can actually agree w/ others w/o telling someone they are WRONG!! seiously, whoever told you that it will harm the plant, is not a well experienced grower (just like you told me) Im sick of arguing on this site, its getting old, and I honestly wouldnt tell someone to do something that will ROT their stem.

I said to ignore these people because they said "throw your plant6 out" "start over, youre plant is dead" "its dying, start over" okay, ignore these because you have obviously prevailed over these stupid comments these people made, and you got a new light set-up..

that is all these people needed to say, "get a new light" that would have been the best advice to give for his situation, not "throw your plant out"

lol well to each there own.People said throw it out because at this point you could get a new correct plant to this size in about a week.Well as to expirence I have personally seen stem rot happen many times from just piling dirt on a young stalk to hide stretching.May not be 100 percent but Id say at least a 70% increase of causeing an issue especially with new growers learning watering cycles. So basically why waste time seeing what will happen when you can start again and be back to the size in 7 days and not keep just hoping things work out? The plant isnt even sexed yet so it not like your losing much.Just a thought of early prevention instead of lossing alot of time when no time is invested yet.And for the 20 years of growing expirence not listening then I assume that the several dozen personal growers I have dealt with who are anywhere from there 20s to ther mid 60s would be irrelavent for me to have listen to even though they have been doing the grows trying things have all seemed to come to the comclusion that it is not the best idea to just bury a young stem that stretched because of poor growing techniques.I would find it weird that so many growers who don't know each other seem to all get the same result from trial and error and decide its not a good thing but if 20 people stick thier hand in a box of snakes and 4 or 5 dont get bit and say its safe it must be a solid absolute that its safe to stick your hand in .The people who read these boards and get upset because another who has expirenced a different result then the one that they posted have some serious mental issues lol.I answer the questions posted using my personal finding s and that I have been shown and taught. If you don't agree that is fine with me Im not the end all be all but offer my requested input which may differ so I make it clear saying things like oh I dont know..Just my thought...From my expirence....What works for me...And maybe if you...see opionions so relax put your 2 cents in and take a valume. He asked for opinions and since it wasnt your written in gold you seem to have had your feeling hurt so I apologize. To the original poster go ahead and do whatever dont wanna offer any idea that might make someone be hurt.
