Tap PPM is SUPER high

Wow! Thanks for all of the replies! What happened to the +rep? And how are people "liking" posts? I would have "liked" most or your replies.

Yesterday when I tested my tap it was down to 600. Still really high. We get our water from the nasty lake down the road. "Filtered". I will have to look into an RO system. Right now, I am living on a budget, so it looks like it will be trips down to the grocery store to fill up bulk gallons of water. .30 cents on the gallon. It'll only cost me about 10 bucks a week in water. After my harvest, I'll look into a good purification system.

I dont know much about RO but with water that is that hard would you not be replacing membranes every couple of weeks lol. Is that not like extremely high! I run well water at 200 and have some issues with mag lock out but deal with it by using epsom foiler sprays.

One of my grows is in a very hard water area. Prefiltered and then ROed the membranes are changed every 6 - 8 months when the ppms meter out to 10 ppm (inline ppm meter).

I was about to make clones, and was going to soak my rockwool in a nute mix for a while @ ~250 PPM. Tested the tap water before adding nutes and realized that the tap water is already at 790-800 PPM. I don't know what is in my water, but I don't drink it cause it tastes awful. Now I know that it is containing some crap in it. Without having to buy gallon after gallon of water jugs just to feed my plants several times a week, what else can I do to lower my PPM?
I have an r/o system. My water is from a well. My filters are clean. We upgraded our whole water system and AFTER the water has run through all of it PLUS the r/o system it’s still coming out with a PPM of 800-900. We ran with prefilters and r/o for 8 years with no problems. then we ended up with rust bacteria, that’s when we upgraded the whole system. New pipes more filter and a water specialist. does anyone know what could be going on?? Everything has been failing with my clones. Also we run a hydroponic system.

Replace your pipes and/or RO system.

How is it all setup? Something sounds off something terrible. When you say you have your whole house done I’m assuming water softener. What the ppm of the water straight from the well before it hits the house. And what kind of ro do you have which I’m assuming is at the sink.

My well water is ~500 ppm and the ph is 7.5 - 7.8 depending on the seasons.

I went through the hauling/buying water thingee on pervious grows and looked into the cost of "treating" it and decided to go with what I have !

Getting too old to haul and too broke to treat, he, he..

My last two grows were with Advanced Nutrients Micro/Grow/Bloom and I was adding 50 drops of ph down to 2.5L of water to get to ~ 6.2

On this grow I'm using Mega Crop one part and 40 drops of ph down in 2.5L to get to a ph of 6.0

It's early days but it appears my well waters ppm doesn't affect the MC feeding schedule recommended amount.

Just saying it can be done ;)

Roughly three weeks from sprouted seeds into soil (auto's from Autoflower dot ca).

yikes! your RO system seems broken or "that specialists" replaced it with some kind of water enricher/ ion exchanger so now you have salt water lol
even the cheap RO household systems for 50 bucks give out 0.1ppm with 3-4 basic membranes
