Tap ppm

Thinking going from ro to tap. I just want to get back to where I was. Before I do though, answer me this. Do you have to add any additives besides your nutrients to compensate for the stripped water, I run genhydro flora series. I know cal mag in the cloner for ro, but is this true for dwc? If my tap is 110 ppm, and I want 300, do I bring it to 410 or 300? How do you account for the mystery 110?

the mystery 110 is why I went to ro, the ro in the cloner is why I want to go tap. Maybe keep ro in dwc and just run soil plugs. Or cloner ro and calmag.

Im confused now.

Yes, I would compensate .... if it's 110 & you want 300 do 410. Now your second part Q is a little confusing you have many options. Hope that helps :peace:

Does anyone know if any additives are needed for RO water besides what is provided by the genhydro three part flora?

In a cloner ro makes no difference, so does adding calmag or adjusting Ph. With no roots they can get no nutes..

it really depends on what strain you're growing. magnesium would be what was lacking if anything. epsom salt is the way i would augment mag if needed. that being said 110ppm from the tap isnt bad at all. i used ro water for a long time with ppm from the tap at 170. couple years ago i did a side by side with ro vs tap. now i just use it from the tap. when i was using the ro i was running calmag+ with general hydro, but since going to tap i found that i rarely need to add extra mag.

I agree 110ppm is still pretty good water......my tap is 75ppm and I just use the GH 3 part no other additives, about a week before I go to 12/12 I start adding florisous bloom.....Then the last 4 weeks kool bloom and some sweetener ...........Anyway I thought I would share what I do..........nitro..

I run straight tap, superstoner has said before he does as well. RO is a waste of money and effort in most cases if you are hooked up to an approved water source.

I'm def not sold on ro. I'll run it and see on the next grow, just planted some plugs in soil, giving soil a shot alongside a dwc
