Taproot is Out After Soaking. Is Moving to Paper Towels Necessary?

Hello,

My question is pretty much what the thread title is. I soaked my seed in distilled water for about 36 hours and the taproot has emerged from the seed. Since the taproot is exposed, do I need to transfer seed to paper towels for a few days? Or plant directly into soil under 24 hour light ? The taproot isn't that sizable approximately the size of a nerd. Will transferring the seed to the moist paper towels stunt the growth? Or help make the plant grow more hearty and sturdy int he long run? Any help is much appreciated as usual.

No no need for a paper towel now but you could put it in the paper towel, I usually remove them from the paper towel to plant when they are 1/4"-1/2" long

I like to put my taproot up or to the side. I feel like everytime i put the root down it germinates with the seed casing on it still. BUt if you put the root up it will pull the casing off and it pulls itself up.

A seed can have trouble trying to orient itself correctly, pointing its root down. Its best to put it in root down. If the shell remains attached, let it go for a week and gently remove it with tweezers if you have to.

Just put it in the soil root down.. Temp is at 81 right now. Should it pop through the soil in two to three days? whats the usual time frame from planting to seeing the sprout?

your over thinking it and I'm not bashing you at all I'm guilty of the same thing all the time over thinking my plants really just search my posts lol but really think about how many plants MJ included germinate and grow just fine without soaking or using a paper towel , I use the paper towel method and plant root down when they're about a half inch long, that being said proving my point above the best plant I ever had was one that I had found in the spring when it was around a 6" tall growing through the crack between two stepping stones at the bottom of some stairs where I smoked the funny thing was I hadn't smoked there in a couple months and always rolled up inside then went out to smoke it my point being don't worry shell grow
