Tarantula?

A friend just gave me a jar of tarantula beneficial bacteria is this any good in a soil grow ? And second question how and when should i use it?

A friend of mine used it on part of an outdoor grow this summer, and left the other part w/o it. Other than that difference, everything was the same. Tilled soil, manure and organic local fert used. The plants that had the Tarantula on them were very noticeably larger, bushier, and had giant colas that had to be staked up. He started at 1/4 strength with the water soluble solution (think it comes in powder as well), and watered the plants w/it once a week, all other waterings were plain water. After a few weeks, he went to 1/2 strength, then used straight water for the final 2 weeks of flowering. The jug said you could foliar feed with it too, but he didn't do that.
