Tart Pop - In House Genetics

I am a seed junky, among many other things. I catalog what I grow and seek stable genetics.
While I am only just entering my second round on my chosen In House phenos (grown from seed), I have had overall success with them behaving.
Many of the other breeders seed genetics threw nanners and caused the usual pollen hucking uproar that growers like myself dislike. I want to help share knowledge about the success or failure of breeders and their stock. Nobody wants to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on seeds just to have them herm and huck pollen everywhere.
I kept two phenos of the Tart Pop labeled as A and B. You can see a side by side of the two. The white looking one on the right is the A pheno and the purple one on the left is the B pheno. I was a little surprised to see that the A actually purpled up a little just days before harvest. Pheno B tested at 25.16 % THC and .06% CBD. Pheno A tested at 30.88% THC and .09% CBD. Total terpenes 2.905% The smell is delicious, juicy, and fruit punch oriented.

I did have a good friend say that he grew out some In House and they did herm so I am a little cautious. I have genetics like C-99, Jack Herer, GG, Lemon Amnesia, Chocolate Thai and many other that I have grown out for many years and they have been super stable. Never a single nanner. That is what I like, that is what I want to find and grow.

I ran some IHG Lemon Lime Punch and I didn't have problems with herms. Grew 3 seeds, cloned and ran them 4 times no problems.

One suggestion, I know a lot of people are quick to give up on a strain or breeder right away. There are definitely issues with unstable polyhybrid F1/F2 strains that can herm, but in a lot of cases, the plant just needs to be climatized. There is a chance that if the breeder is in a totally different region the plant will be stressed initially from the drastic changes in temps/rh etc. In some cases from outdoor or greenhouse to an indoor setup.

A friend shared with me that he occasionally sees herms, but if he runs clones of the same plant a second time, they don't show up. I dont grow at the volume he does so I havent had a chance to try it.

I do stick w his suggestion though of growing seeds into moms, waiting til they show preflowers, and then taking cuts. Haven't had any issues w herms since doing this way. It takes longer to hunt but the nice thing is I have the Mom ready to take cuts again as soon as I decide on a keeper.

There are a handful of mainstream, highly popularised breeders who produce truly stable genetics that are dynamite. In House is not one of them.

Not saying you'll have herm issues, they're not Barney's by any means. But they're also not Dynasty or Duke Diamond. You venture into the sort of genepools that they do, and it comes with the territory.

The breeder I have had the most problems with is Jordan Of The Islands, Canada. Every single strain threw stamens and some of them were incredible strains but I didn't keep them.

Damn I am sorry to hear this! I was just thinking of ordering some of their blue Hawaiian sativa :( I still may but only grow a few at a time so i can watch for nanners.

Are you still around Garden Mother? I have seen some surprisingly high test results for Tart Pops and yours place up there as well. I was trying to figure out where it came from. Zkittles, although tasty, is known for being weak. Same goes for Purple Punch. Skunk, which is not very precise naming (there are many varieties of it) can be potent but it is most often a mid. Perhaps it is the Tangie that is giving it that kick. I have seen other tests from Dungeons Vault's Tangie crosses which were high. In the end, it doesn't really matter where the potency comes from, as long as it's there. It's just interesting to consider with this strain which a such a broad mix of varieties.

I have three of them, about half way through flower. I am liking what I see and smell so far. One of them is dark purple. If they turn out to be worth it, maybe I will post a couple pics or a review.
I remember you from your avatar from so long ago when I was a lurker!

Hey what are stamens? I have a pack of JOTI black funk dawg and was thinking of chucking some pollen
