Taskenti from Cannabiogen. The real hashplant

Hello

I've been growing clones and seeds from this strain for years. I do so because since I found it, in 2012, it became the model of what a pure indica should be, in my opinion. These plants are productive and strong, but the most important thing, the effect they provide, is unique. It has a strong high at the beginning that after some minutes becomes the heavier body numbness I've ever experimented using weed. I always sleep after smoking this weed, and the effect over pain due to fatigue, join inflammation, etc is yet to be equaled by any other strain.

Comparing to this, I find the effects of the strongest modern hybrids not to be up to the task in the medical section. The main problem with this strains is that the seedbank isn't offering it anymore due a lot of endogamy problems they were having. Apparently they were crossing the best specimens for years until they found their seeds didn't sprout anymore, and they discontinued it.

I found a very special keeper in one packet from the 2006-2008 (we aren't sure) a friend sent to me. It was an incredible lucky strike. I've managed to find older stock (less endogamic) from different sources and I've been working actively to produce seeds with my special clone and different males, using the females from the different stocks to evaluate their quality.

Usually the more modern Taskenti were better but more endogamic. And the ones from years before (2005) were more raw, less worked.

I'll start the thread with some pictures of my selected clone:

This is one of the males I used to make seeds:

And this is the result of pollination:

IMGP4334.JPG
And the seed gathering:

I have actually a lot of plants from these seeds growing. I want to see if the plants I get are the same quality I expect. Previous tests have been providing real good results, but I have several different lines at the moment and I have to keep growing and testing.

I'll be uploading pictures here. Let me know your opinion.

Cheers

I know Taskenti from CBG also i know " Kaiki " the breeder, and i can say you are working with and amazing strain, man keep it and work it, lot of uzbekitan genes there :-)
Thanks! It is nice you already know it.

I've been talking to Kaiki before he left the seedbank and went to Colombia. In fact, I sent them the special Taskenti cut I have a couple of times, they wanted to start producing seeds again, but I don't know if they will succeed. They know this cut is fire.

This guy made available some unique fine weeds like Mextiza and Taskenti. I'm working with the Mextiza as well, because endogamy is even worse on that one, and the flowers it produces are a fantastic powerful sativa high that must be kept for the future.

The roots have colonized the medium, so in any moment I'll put these plants into flower. I've been purging males and I took half a dozen out of the tent. Now I keep 37 taskentis between females and plants with unclear gender. They look quite happy, and the bigger ones are around 40cm tall. I'll have them at 24 hours of light to speed the things up before switching to flower, but I don't think I'll wait much more to switch, maybe a few days.

I've taken some plants out of the tent for you to see some different examples of branching. No plant shows the column-like shape that makes some indicas very difficult to clone and train, and in general they have a very good natural branching, but some don't branch that much.

I like a lot their color, their very very short internodes (I believe COBs have something to do with that, sometimes there are just 3-4 cm between the branches) and their smell. General look is great.

Well, most of the plants are around 40 cm tall. It is going to be a good moment to switch the timer. 9 weeks total between planting and flowering.

These are some males I keep. They are under a window, and I hope they will produce some pollen I can freeze. I already killed the ones I didn't like. In a couple of weeks I'll have all the males figured out and I can make a better selection.

Beautiful. Can't wait to see how those crosses turn out
Well, I don't know if they are really a cross, since both parents come from the same strain. Anyway, I've had some in the summer (horrible overheated indoors) and the results were promising. They were quite similar to the parents.

I've been checking their gender. I can't believe that after looking carefully all the plants, I only found two more males, so I ended up with 34 females. That is much more than I expected, so I might perform some killing between the uglier specimens. I didn't want to take cuttings on this test round, but I think I'm going to take some from the dozen plants I like more, just in case.

Sometimes my ugliest plant gave me the best result that why i dont cut them right away and let them have a chance

Im gonna use my new method , i let my plant mature enough so there able to show their female preflower and i pollinate them when they are still in veg, that way i get a small batch of seed and they keep their yields and potency so im able to see what she can gave me

instead of making a round to see the structure etc and another for seed , i make 2 in one

There they are, growing happy and fast. Last week I burned some leaves when I mixed potassic soap and Delta9 (flower booster). I've misted them again tonight, I can't leave spider mites to proliferate. I've taken 3 pretty plants out of the tent to have a closer look. The color and the shape of the leaves is lovely.

Lights are now at 14h on / 20h off. They will start flowering anyway but the extra couple oh hours of light will allow them to grow more during the two first weeks, so they'll make a better bush.

I've smoked some of this herb from a plant I grew in the summer. The effect is as expected, I slept several hours after smoking. Taste is not as intense as it could, but it is still good.

Flower party will start in a some weeks.I expect quite a lot of stretching during the first two weeks. A lot for an Indica, it is a pleasure see one growing with that much energy.

Hello again, what wattage are those COB´s, and also have you done any growing with Hps or Mh, thinking about yield differences?

Myself an avid Hps man for 20 years, but Leds are the future, but proper quality Leds are a bit expensive in my opinion, what are the prices for those that you have mate?

Cheers...

Hi
I use 400W of CXB3590, 50W each. They are expensive for sure, now I'd go with Citizen since efficiency doesn't drop that much while increasing the power output. I've been growing with HPS for 20 years too.
I've been using COBs for a year, and they are different to HPS, I'm not used to COBs yet and the first I noticed is that plants mature earlier and I must cut Nitro before I used to.

I also noticed that plants don't stretch much and I believe I have to give them a longer vegetative.

I paid about 540 Euro plus taxes and delivery. Near 800 Euro. Now I'd purchase something cheaper, but I am very happy with the LEDs.

Cheers

Okay, thats some investment I must say, but in the long run, considering power usage of the Hps vs. Leds
I due believe its worth it. I have looked on ebay and amazon, many options on Led lights and so many prices.

Could find the nCitizen you mentioned, but many many other options...

Next time around perhaps Leds :-)

Have you ever grown the Hasplant from Sensi Seeds? I did many moons ago, but didnt quite like the high althought taste was ok, guess the right pheno wasnt there.

Have a good day and weekend...
