Filing is voluntary. Lieing on your return is illegal. that's why you have to sign it.

There is no law on the books that states we have to file. I saw it on 60 minutes or something and on YouTube.
In court a taxpayer must insist on a jury trial and the defending attorney has to drive home the point that there is no law. Judges hate this as does the IRS. they will skirt the issue and take your property because they can. It doesn't make it right or legal but that doesn't stop them. If a jury is involved and they go by the evidence rather than the judges instructions they have and will continue to side with the defendants. I would have to look up case examples but they are there if you want to do a quick search.

In my 30 years of working I have never filed my taxes. If I do it once, they will be watching for me, no?

Just be glad you get to have a little of that money you work for to attain shit and they aren't sending you small pox blankets with your returns.

Here is a list of taxes people pay for the most part. I think that's more than enough. Every fucking thing we buy is taxed out the wazoo. They misuse and abuse and to add insult to injury the rich PAY NOTHING. I'm all set for the impending collapse. I have plenty of popcorn and frozen dinners so I can watch it all unfold on tv. And my "side job" has given me enough to buy real money so the greatest transfer of wealth in human history will some day benefit me and the people I love.

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world, had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.* What the hell happened?

Alot has happened. More than just anyone thing. I will say that on a whole I would rather not be working in the conditions deemed acceptable 100 years ago. I'm glad that there are laws in place so child labor in the U.S. is not what it was in 1914. Child labor was still occurring a 100 years ago. I'm glad I don't have to send my kids to a factory to work where the biggest on the job threat is death.

I still concur that the bastards are taxing us to extinction. The misuse is astonishing and quiet frankly sickening when you think that our tax money is used to kill children while our own suffer right here. It's mind boggling really.

Yeah DannyBoy, people here think others in high tax countries like the Eurozone are crazy, but we actually pay a higher percentage in taxes than they do. Out of every industrialized country, the US is the only one without universal healthcare, and we are only ranked 37th in world for quality, while being number 1 in cost. Crazy, just keep drinking the kool aid, sheople.

We have no money for infrastructure to repair our highways, bridges, water/sewer pipes, electric grid, etc

We will run out fo money for Social security and default on our pension liabilities in our lifetime.

The way this country views mathematics is a travesty Clayton. "Let someone else do it". I have a friend that sees no value in their kids knowing algebra. None. It's ridiculous.
