Filing is voluntary. Lieing on your return is illegal. that's why you have to sign it.

There is no law on the books that states we have to file. I saw it on 60 minutes or something and on YouTube.
In court a taxpayer must insist on a jury trial and the defending attorney has to drive home the point that there is no law. Judges hate this as does the IRS. they will skirt the issue and take your property because they can. It doesn't make it right or legal but that doesn't stop them. If a jury is involved and they go by the evidence rather than the judges instructions they have and will continue to side with the defendants. I would have to look up case examples but they are there if you want to do a quick search.
