Whats up fellow organic growers. I just got done with my 1st round of organics it went ok but I struggled. I yeilded 3lbs from 18 plants and got 5.7lbs 18 plant grow before last using chemical nutes general hydro. Anyways I did not add enough lime did not have enough microbes etc. I have 2 55 gal plastic drums full of soil some perlite and coco. What would be the best tea (vermiculite tea) or ewc. How many gallons should I add to each drum. I will prob start my next grow in roughly late august as its to hot here shouldni wait to start adding or better to start earlier. I need some help what to do to better my soil. I

OK well for teas for young clones. I'll have to use up a few post due to my tab button being broke lol. Well in a fresh soil with young seedlings or clones I would feed accts, which are active aerated compost teas, I'd suggest 1 cup molasses, 1/2 cup unsulphered molasses, you just brew for 48 hrs in 65-75°. If it smells bad don't use it. If it smells like molasses or earthy your golden . I'd suggest a 40 lpm pump and homemade vortex brewer. Make your own worm castings and your microbe activity will be top notch and you can feed them tablescraps. Mail with out colored ink and old notes from teas.

Vegging tea for mature plants. 1 tbsp/gal increments of: feather meal, alfalfa meal, kelp meal, oystershell flour and you could add either seabird quano, fish emulsion, high nitro bat quano, few others instead of feather but really you can go wild.

As I am taking a few trips between now and august finished my last grow and will hardly be here so I am not planting anymore until late august. Should I add acts to the soil in barrels on should I wait until I get closer before I start enriching my soil and everything dies off sinces I have 5 months before soil will be used again thanks for the help may ur always appreciated

SuperSoil is your answer

how did you do your first organic round? what size container, what did you have for food?

You can follow Subcool's recipe and use it accordingly in 7 gallons containers, after that it's transplant and water em until you harvest, that easy.

Not so great actually. I super soiled allowed it to cook for 6.5 weeks used 5 gal buckets vegged for 2.5 months I believe (I wrote the dates down but going tru child custody and had to put everything up gone not here anymore) and I did not add enough lime at all so my ph was like 5.0 runoff and sorda did a dummy move but flushed with pulverized lime and like 8.0 ph buy the time the ph came up no super soil ingredients were left I used subcools revised version. So I gave teas along w alflafa quanos ewc compost tea etc. It helped but it was so late to catch up I had to start flowering for court purposes. I did use some earth juice micro stuff. I ended up w 3lbs and usually get almost 6lbs and that was with general hydro nutes. But I need way more lime and more time for the lime to break down. I had peletized
Instead of pulverized. I has 2 55 gal drums full and had prob a cup of lime per drum but it was a learning experience and my next run will def be way better

P's don't be afraid to feed your soil. I have stuff cook up to 6 months well over that now and i feed it all my scraps from teas, aloe filets , molasses, leafs without mites and my soil Web stays nice and white and smells amazing. I feed left over teas to all my soils . My soil is aimed for about a month of strong growth then the teas are needed. I even use big pots and I've experimented making stronger soils but the results are burn during transplant. I may have to think of a small layer of quano on the bottom of pot.

If you put a manure or guano layer on the bottom, mix in some crushed egg or oyster shell and some greensand. Works nice for long flowering types.

Gracias guys^. I got that shut handy. Been eating a lot of shrimp too so going to use the slap chop and throw that in with it. By the time the roots hit I hope it's okay. I've never done it and you all know how scary it is trying something new.

Yeah I just hand feed. I have some deep water culture buckets going but I'm still fighting it. I could see the possibilities of automated watering but with teas you would need to keep your filters clean. It's possible but would take a lot of work and testing. I just hand feed and even if I were large scale I would still hand feed, I have maybe 20 plants in flower and I just water, foliar, check for problems and lollipop if needed. 2 times a week I get busy, I do mm the rush things I take my time and really study them and see what I'll need to feed next or maybe add next time when I make soil , ect. Anything can be done and if something will benefit you then go for it man. I enjoy spending some time with my females and getting a nice look at them while I play is needed for me to sleep good at night, I stress if I don't get everything done on my check list. Talk to you later man. Going to go find something to do while my old lady sleeps lol man I wish it were summer. It's cold as shit for far too long here in northern us. I need to get my shit together lol.
