i have these 3 plants going in a small 3 x 2 x 5 cabinet, i have 2 pc fans exhausting a totall of 200 cfm in a 30 cubic foot area...and a small fan turned upside down at the bootm of the canopy blowin up. my humidity is anywhere from 37-55% from what i seen min/max on my dual temp hygro meter...the first plant (which WAS the densest foliage and least amount of actual airflow developed little tiny ??powdery mildew?? on its fan leaves, not all but atleast 10 or 15 of them, i have recently trimmed all the affected fan leaves off and drastically removed alot of fan leaves i thought were hindering air flow around the plant and i also put a small pc fan pointed right at the plant....i think im going to get some baking soda and mix it with water and spray all three plants right as the lights turn on to assist in evaqporation, they are 6 weeks into flowering and im curious what would u guys do???any ideas???...if i eliminate the cause of the initial beginning of this will they just go away ?(I.E., adding the fan, trimming foliage)...or do i have to spray them?..is anything better and cheaper and healthier for the buds seeing as how im well into flowering?...i know its not a takeover infestation but i want it gone...DSC02379.jpgDSC02374.jpgDSC02380.jpgDSC02376.jpgDSC02373.jpg

First thing is you dont wanna cut fan leaves off, atleast not a bunch of them. Yes, it is powdery mildew. The cause is not enough air circulation in your grow area. I would use a dose of neem oil, just try not to get any on the flowers.

nice looking plants ..powder mildew sucks ...neem oil ..greenlight brand from lows works well.. after spraying if any leaves have bad damage remove leaves!! your leaves are green and healthy so you shouldn't have to remove any.. but that mildew is ill and fks things up fast and spreads fast...and if you start your fans before treatment you will blow spores all over causing recurrences.. so kill fans ..treat well spray down walls and buckets everything...then start fans on high

here's what I'd do. first, it'll be ok. the shit's already there, you can't do anything about that. If it were me I would think twice about using neem that late in flowering. use some stuff called greencure. soak your plants when the lights are off, just make sure they've had time to cool off, or right when they come on. hit them again three days later and you'll be good for a couple weeks. after that you can spot spray to treat. It sucks but if you stay on top you'll be fine and your plants will reward your for your effort.

I've also heard something called pm wash, check it out. I've heard really good things about it.

also, do you have any other rooms or plants? if so you should treat those plants now too, and ultimately treat the room's with sulfur or fog.

edit: make sure you have a fan blowing on your plants after you spray them.

redeye, i have 2 more of the pc fans set up down low that was pulling in fresh air but i noticed the humidity rising when i would run them so now they are off, the exhaust is pulling air in passively (negative air pressure) through the openings where the intake fans are, i know they are pulling in decently cause if i light a flame near the passive air intakes from outside the cabionet it sucks the flame in...i appreciate the help from you guys very much so...since posting this i have already trimmed the fan leaves which i probably shouldnt have but there is still a good amount of them left (lol, i hope) and i got some fungicide(thanks SVT, its greencure) from the local hydro store that is ok to spray the plants with all the way up to harvesting...i think they look A O K again...heres some pics, im gonna watch them like a hawk and if i see any white spots im gonna slaughter them...the main plant im stoked on is the blue venom, ill post some pics of her later...DSC02387.jpgDSC02386.jpgDSC02381.jpgDSC02382.jpgDSC02385.jpg

SVT, hey bro, i sprayed my plants with the garden cure and it seems to have gotten rid of the mildew completely but i have a question...have u ever personally used this stuff????....i sprayed them in the dark period just like it says so the liquid can kill the mildew and evaporate rather that just be hammered under the light and dry too quickly and leave a residue, etc....BUT...my question is that within hours of spraying them all 3 plants pistils went from that fat (not ready yet) outreached white pistils to the familiar, almost harvest time drawn back thinner darker pistils, all three plants were acting alot different during flowering as far as progress and development but as soon as the lights turned on last night almost ALL the pistils did this...is it normal?... they all went from thick white like this...IMG_20110411_071527.jpgto drawn back and darker like this...View attachment 1558116
is this normal???

yeah man, I've used the stuff and the same thing happened to me. It's just fine and it won't affect the plants. I think the hairs just had a little residual moisture in them and the lights probably just burned them a little b/c of that. again, it won't affect the plants. More hairs will grow.
