I have paraded around this little corner of riu for years professing to be some kind of sage.
Yes, everything I've said here is true, with the occasional embellishments for flair or artistic license.
And yes, I've taken LSD in the hundreds of times, highest by my estimate, in the low six hundred mikes if that.
But very recently I have reflected upon as many of my experiences as I could for reasons I needn't explain.
Some here know I was chased out of the garden over 40 years ago.
So I have never taken blotter of any sort.
But what I am recalling is the differences in experience that rendered some trips teeth clenching endurances while others were like falling through clouds.
Some were transparent light filled heaven while others were dark and murkey, muddled, confusing, short term memory shunting sorts of adventures.
I recall speaking to others who seemed to have the same sorts of experiences on the same "types". Or " brands".
So what was it? LSD is LSD right?
Byproducts, even if they are active must have been in quantities too small to have an effect.
Remember, these save the later gel types were all in pill form. (Well, we once got caps, filled with instant coffee, and half a blue tab in the middle), and of course there were the one pound cans of sliced mushrooms that someone had managed to taint with acid)
But what made them different? Were they different? Was it placebo and setting? (I really don't think so)
Now what is the difference between needlepoint, fluff and any of the other terms I've read about here? I know the basics but has anyone noticed a difference in effect?
In the next few weeks I may be revisiting that garden. Trepidation runs high, my last time was indeed Dante's cruelest vision. But I do not intend to leave this earth without knocking on the gardens gate one final time regardless of what may lay beyond.
Talk to me folks. Forty years is a long time.
