Temp and humidty conditions for Drying & Curing?

I want to do the proper drying process (hanging them and letting them dry naturally). One article I read said ideal temp should be around 70 and humidity around 55%, during the drying process. Only way I can simulate these conditions is indoors (maybe in the closet area). If I do have to do that, how do I keep the smell under control? My housemates may object to doing this indoors if it stinks up the place.

Only other option I have left is to do 'drying' in small shed that's in the backyard. Where I live, summer has ended. On average the shed will be in high 50's during the day (may even drop to high 40's at nights) and humidity may be around 30%-40%. Can someone give me some insight as to what will happen if drying is done at these below ideal conditions?

70 degrees F and 70% humidity is ideal in my book. Works for cigars and I do the same for cannabis.

The only thing I can say is with the temperature being so low its going to take longer to dry your weed which isn't a bad thing necessarily as long as mold doesn't start growing on your nug's.

it'll probably take you anywhere from 7-10 days to fully dry your bud's in order to not run into problems when you jar it up

Thanks! I'm going to check on it twice a day to make sure mold spores don't see their way into the shed.

Would it help if I spray the floor, walls and doorway with mold prevention spray?

not really since mold is so tiny and you really cant kill all of it. I put my nugs in a box with string slats running across it..keeps them dark..cool..and hidden from the free flowing air that could have spores. they still get air but its not as easy for spores to fly by and stick to my nugs..take into consideration that spores could be on or in your nugs now and when you jar it they moisten up and propigate..thats why you keep an eye on the nugs when they are jarred up..so my long drawn out answer is no...its like killing zombies on resident evil...they...just...keep...coming....back...ha ha you will be fighting a long drawn out battle if you decide to hose your shed down
