Temp Question on drying

After cutting through the information overload; I've reached one final quandary that I need clarification on... what is an acceptable temp of where I'm drying these monkeys?

About the only place I have enough room is in a closet that stays fairly warm and the majority of what I've read has recommended temps ranging from 60-70F degrees; I wouldn't be able to maintain or even come close to this range and would be running closer to 90F and the humidity runs around 50-60%.

That being said, I have a friend who dries his in an attic and then jar cures in the cool for 1.5-2 months and I have to say, his buds are the prettiest, best smelling things I've ever seen.

So, are there any risks with this closet?

Thanks in advance.

You have to watch out for high heats and high humidity because mold. I know this is the only space you have to dry. Running a small fan on low (not directly on the buds) will help. You don't want that hot air and you definitely don't want hot air with not circulation. You'll be fine as long as you have the fan in there moving the air around. If you don't have one its worth going out and buying the cheapest fan you can find. You just spent all this time waiting for what you have don't ruin it buy not drying it properly.

I decided to build a box out of a few sheets of 3/4 X 4 X 8 foam board, mounting a HEPA air purifier in the bottom to pull cool air in from an air conditioned space and venting out of slots in the top. With this setup, my temp should run closer to 70ish and humidity in the 50% range; would this be a better solution?

Okay, so once I set this all up, things changed; temp was pushing in the upper 80F range during the hot time of the day and the humidity was pretty steady at around 50% as it was before. So I removed the foam board divider to the cool space and apparently opening up this area has resulted in a 10-15% drop in humidity and about about a 5-10 degree drop in temp.

I used to vent that chamber into my grow room and inside it stayed at around 70F but the humidity was higher (this is the air conditioned space I was referring to above is my mushroom chamber) but I suspect that my lights that are now blocked out by foil (don't want to have a 900 watt spike in a few weeks for Grow #2; yes, I know it's bad on my bulbs) are consuming the RH due to the added hot surfaces around the lights.

So now that I've removed the barrier to the mushy chamber, I'm running around 80F in the hottest part of the day and 40% humidity or less.

Is this okay?
