i bought a fish tank heater thing like what the use to keep tank at a constant temp for tropical fish, will this keep my hydro res at sweet temp.also what is best res temp and outside room temp. just wondering what you guys use for this issue.:leaf:

You won't want to use a heater....in most cases. The res will get heated up from being in the room with hid lights...so if anything it would be a chiller that you should look at. Cooler water holds more 02 and thats what you want. Don't go below 58 deg. f. don't go above 75/78...I think thats the max, someone correct me if I'm wrong

also i forgot to mention that the reason i bought tank heater is cause my place is very cold cause im canadian lol and im not using hot lights im using led's but summer is coming so i might not need it now lol

The heater will probably e usefull, next winter and r in the night, when temps drop. The good thing about thoes heaters is that they have a thomostat, so they won't switch on untill the water drops bellow a certain temp.

Cool water is good for the roots. Also keeps bad bacteria from getting out of control.

Are you running a cycle timer? What are your time settings?

how big is your res? my boy will take 2 2 liter bottles fill them with water and put them in the freezer. than every day switch them out from res to freeze 1 at a time.

its a 10 gallon res.i always growed in soil but now i love the hydro but im becoming like a perfectionist with the ph ec etc.... lol.what do you think is optimul temp for res? for veg and bloom? thanks dude this forum is awesome lol :leaf:

that seems to be about room temp my res will be about that naturally.only thing im worried about now before i start this hydro grow is i tested my ph in tap water its like 7.6 means i have to buy ph + and - crap. my nutes say ph balancing on them do you think that will bring it down? :leaf:
