Temperature jump due to themometer placement...please look.

Hi all, put reader right next to plants on top of hydro temp jumped significently. Please tell me if it is in right place ? was up to 97 faren. now got to 87* degrees but im almost freezin my butt off 20 feet away from plants! Any help greatly appreciated. Also if ya might know if i adjust ballast down to 75 % do i lose lumens ? Sincerely, A Newb.

Always take the temp at canopy level. Fine tuning of intake and exaust fans can help greatly.

lol, Thanks got it down 84.4 degrees now still a little high cause temps. are only gonna jump around here come spring and summer have to do some more tweaking to keep it under 85*.

You need to move air into the grow area at floor level and move it out at light level. I have four fans running to do this. Heat is why I don't even try to grow in summer. If I can't keep temp at plant tops below 80, I don't try to grow.
