temps in the 40's

weather.com says 40's tonight, tomorrow and most of next week. ive read a few places that too many nights in the 40's will kill it and that it also will be shocked and not grow in the 40's? in central maine about halfway thru flowering. weather doesnt seem to be cooperating..

they in pots or in the ground? id say the high 40's wouldint hurt the plant i would be worried about lower 40's. if there in pots just take em in the house at night put them in a perfectly dark place then take the plants back out in the morning or whenever t warms up outta the 40's in the day.

We will be fine in Maine just as long as your plants are really healthy. If you have a good strain that can handle the cold you will be all set. The latest I have harvested in Maine is Nov 7th, it took 9 days of 38-42 temps to finally stress the plant. If your plants are small enough you can put large trash bags over them at night so the frost doesn't get to them.

yeah idk what strains im using cuz its bagseed (and they are all very different looking). would love to get my hands on a good local maine strains seeds. is there anything i should look out for, signs its not handling the cold? will it just droop and die?

never seen cold stress but it seems like it would droop and prolly start to change to some color besides green?

If we get a real good frost (34 degrees and below) and your plants are unprotected, they show signs of stress pretty quickly. I have seen them come out of a hard frost looking pretty decent just as long is it warms up and stays warm. The gradual decline from cold weather isn't as fast or dramatic as you would think. The leaves will first start to turn a light shade of green (not yellow) and will look a little wilty, almost like they need to be watered. After a week or two of them looking like that I usually rip them out of the ground, that is if the bud rot doesn't get to them first. The dew that collects on the plants everydamn morning screws everything up!
