Tent air / fan questions.

2 Qs.

Growing in a 4x4 tent.

1. My fan comes on during lights on. Its working great and I have good air flow. Should I have air flow during lights out too? Will this be important during flower? To help reduce mold and things? My humidity is between 50 and 64. I expect it to be lower during flower just do the room conditions.

2. My fan is pulling good air flow through the tent but I don't have much direct air on the wee seedlings. I know with growing tomatoes, peppers, etc seedlings indoors, you should have a pretty strong wind blowing on them to strengthen the stems. Otherwise the real world will knock them down with the slightest breeze. My MJ wont be going outside but I imagine having strong healthy stocks and branches will help bear the load of flower. SO, Should I have a fan blowing on the plants to?

With seedling I wouldn't be fussed about extraction so long as it's 60/70% and I certainly wouldn't use a fan on seedlings.
Once they get going you'll need air extraction night and day to maintain the humidity and temperatures, expect the humidity to get worse as the plants grow especially so during flower.

Oh wait seedlings? Got pics of your set up?

I will get some pics. Its straight forward. Gorilla 4x4 with side lower side vents open. AC Infinity TS 6 fan sticking out of the top side vent pulling air out. Set on low.

At the moment, I only have one lonely seedling in there. Had a seed issue. Possibly picking up a clone to add this weekend. May clone my plant or possible grow out the replacement seeds, if they come. :) Plant right now is wee bitty. About an inch.

Luckily for me, the room they are in, in general drops humidity as the summer turns to fall and then to winter. Temps will be stable and I do have a dehumidifier if the girls let off too much steam.

So you don't put a fan directly blowing on the plants during veg?

I will monitor humidity for the need to run the fan AND put the fan on during flower for sure.

Yes you use a fan circulating air in and around your plants during veg. Just not so much while their seedlings. Although air moving around in the tent is not direct it can still help them grow strong. If you aren’t seeing issues your probably doing fine. And when In flower you will need air to keep mold away. They do not need high humidity to grow after the third node. Be mindful that rh is a big deal. After seedling stage they’re good much lower. It’s not a tropical plant, so it doesn’t need to feel like it in the jungle. Lol

You can see when I added the FAN in the middle of the week. I turned the fan down today a bit to hopefully get a minor fluctuation in day/night. Still have good air flow though.

I am familiar with putting a fan on my other seedlings, so I do understand. I don't want to create a cold draft or blow them down. Just "make them dance".
