I have a heater vent on my ceiling that blows air out when I turn the thermostat up (No A/C). Would it be ok to duct my exhaust into this? I’m assuming it will just blow throughout my house into the other vents which is no problem, I just want to make sure it won’t mess anything up in my HVAC system. Thanks!

Youll get mold after a while unless you filter it leaving the grow

Id vent outside and put a dryer vent over the hose outside
Also the longer the hose you vent through, the more power you lose on your fan.

That’s mostly what I was afraid of, and after a while that might get pretty gnarly. Just going to exhaust out the window, set a dryer vent up next to the A/C. It’s legal here so I’m not that concerned about being “stealthy” and my neighbors aren’t nosy. Now will my A/C and intake fan draw in fresh air to the room?

Can you locate the home's main sewer vent? Exhausts above the ridge line. Usually black 4" PVC. These have no fluids or pressure. Buy a street Y, cut the vent pipe in 2 places to remove a section the length of the Y. Exhaust everything up that vent. Nobody will smell anything mixed with shit, bathwater, laundry soap.

Winter months I run my hid exhaust exactly like this it, goes into the floor vent and comes up out of the floor vent on the other side of the wall and heats my bedroom.
It's just a couple feet of venting from one side of the wall to the other but now you've got me thinking about mold, what did you mean by filter it? Thanks

Just a basic size room not exactly a jungle in there but now you got me thinking about mold, I mean the heat is free so why waste it it's expensive up north believe me but damn I never thought of the mold factor before thanks for pointing that out

idk bro I would maybe take a quick glance at things but you're already filtering through carbon and unless you're dealing with 80%+ rh I would think you should be fine honestly. Ive heard about ppl heating houses with large ops
And I’m only venting a 4x4. 31-33% rh as is, I haven’t fired up the lights with everything going to see what the tent environment sits at, I’m sure I’ll need to throw a humidifier in once the tent is being ventilated

So do i need to run duct or can i just place a 4" inline fan right in with out having to worry about light leaking into the grow room from the sun?

So mine is like this
6inch vortex inline fan
Oven vent fan metal sceen thing
Then my dry vent cap over the outside.
You may run into light leaks but you can put some kind of dark filter or run hose and put a bend in it to stop the light

Thanks for the response. Ok so i do have to run a hose, just didn't want all the extra equipment taking up space. Don't want light leaks that's why i have it covered for now.
