Tent getting hot 84⁰ f HELP!

Hey guys, when my tent heats up.. if I turn the lights down for like 20 minutes. The temp drops about 5 degrees. Then takes a few hours to get that hot again. Is it okay for me to turn a couple lights off/down for 20 minutes every couple of hours to lower the temp? Or should I just let my plant get used to the 84⁰? Thanks!!

84 ain’t bad it’s on the limit but most cannabis grows in like Afghanistan weather which is hot af, if it goes above mid to high 80’s beware, just keep and eye of heat stress

Led or hps?

So you think 84-85⁰ is okay? Cus I'd rather keep the lights on vs turning them off or turning off the CFLs sometimes. Or turning bloom off on one of my LEDs.

If 84-85 isnt going to stress her out or slow her growth. I would love to run with it at that temp lol

Cus atm theres nothing more I can do to lower temps. Its hottest part of summer where I live. And I live in a shittily insulated log cabin.

I find that a lot of plants under LED actually prefer 83-85. They don't tend to raise the surface temperature of the leaves like HPS does so they seem to like higher ambient room temps. I run around 83 under my HLG QB288s and my plants love it. They actually get kinda pissy if it gets under 78.

Okay cool thanks!

Even in flower you’ll kill it at that rh % range make sure to get a fan on them and you won’t have to worry about mold or bud rot

Leaves regulate to the same temperature and air heat isn't exciting electrons like a photon will so if it's cooler under LEDs then less photons hit the leaf.

I keep seeing it said, yet to have come across it in a lab or field just led growers.

Yeah once theres more in there. Or they're bigger I'm moving the lights up. And using my 2nd fan to blow the plants. But alright I'll keep her at 84-85 and see how she fares

So you're saying the air temp can be 85⁰ because it's not like the heat is being directly focused on the leaves. Like they're not 85⁰ just the air is.

No I was questioning the logic between leaf temperature from air and light and them not being the same.

If you have airflow it should be easy to hang a hundred and so led CFL combo at those temps. Maybe your thermometer isn't in the right place to read accurate.

I have one next to my plant and one directly above my plant at the top of the tent so I can get an accurate temp check. The temp is always consistent with the two. The only difference being the therm by the plant gets a little hotter.

Actually I have 4 therm. All in different spots. Two different kinds. All say the same thing give or take less than a degrees difference.
