Tent sizes

this is what i've discovered about tents. they're never big enough. i'd go with the biggest ones you can stuff into your available area.i built a 4 x7 to flower in, because that's the biggest i could fit. when they start to bush out, 6 plants fill it wall to wall, with just enough room to not be crowded. i have a small area for seedlings and clones, about 2.5 x 2.5, and a 3.5 x 5 area for larger vegging plants. i run it as a perpetual, so every week to ten days i pull one out, and start another clone or seed. it takes about 14 plants total to keep it going, and requires just short of 50 sq feet.
so it depends on how much you want to run, and how, but each plant requires at least two sq feet once it starts flowering, unless you're running something like a SOG

As someone already mentioned -- make sure you take the size of your equipment into consideration. I thought I was fine with a 4'x4' to flower in, but you put in the a/c and dehumidifier that takes up a quarter of the room already. Take Roger's advice and shoot for the largest tent that you can fit into your area.

Size would depend what your goal is, how many plants do you plan to run Etc
Not sure. Going starting from seeds and germinate 10 seeeds and see what happens.

How many plants are you wanting to veg ,What height you wanting to get them too.
I made mine from MDF,and just made sure that I pollyed the inside with the black and white stuff,Cut it to size then did the edges in Gaffer tape,Did the bottom 3 ft in the diamond silver refective sheeting ,it's lasted 8 year ,and still going strong.You can make the veg unit to fit the space you have perfect if you do your own.
I have a Bud Box,that I have been vegging then flowering in ,I think it's about mtr X mtr x 6 ft that would give you room to veg a few plants but I say 4 max,think that cost about 45 quid.I have a big tent that ain't even been out of the box yet 2 mtr X 2 mtr X 8 ft ,I'm wanting to use this soon with 4 600 HPS lights in ,giving them 1 mtr each to grow .But give me my own made unit any day ,the plants love it.
