Those with grow tents I seen videos with fans outside tent and the carbon filter too. It states you can put both inside the tent. What's the noise level and odor level that have this setup. Trying to decide to get tent or box? Please help. Seems tents are cheaper and yield more product

If you get a good carbon scrubber like a Presh filter then there is no smell, get an 8 inch fan and a speed controller and turn it down so the noise is less, go with atleast a 4x4 and 600 watts. your going to want to air cool the light. Tents are were its at, boxes are too damn small, even 600 watts worth of weed will be gone well before you can grow more.

Tents are freakin' epic but I prefer to DIY. The configuration of the fan/filter doesn't matter, but I'm guessing people who keep filters outside just don't have much space inside the tent or want to minimize the hassle with hanging it up.

The noise depends on the fan, location of the tent. You can build a custom box to house the fan to reduce the noise even more and hang the filter using bungee cords to minimize vibrating.

Have you considered a spare room in your house if you have one? I'm currently growing in the closet of a spare room with great success.

Something to think about... as mentioned before, tents are nice, but then so is that spare bedroom if you have it. I prefer the whole bedroom over the closet, mainly for circulation and temps, plus the closet is a good place to store your supplies. I have been an outdoor grower a long time, moved some indoors recently to increase productions. I bought a tent, 4x4, thinking it was a great way to flower in the bedroom and use another portion of the room for seedlings and veg.... after one run, I realized that was ass backwards. Tents are nice, but controlling the humidity and temps is a balancing act ESPECIALLY during flower when it most matters. It's easier to maintain good temps 74-78 and humidity 35-40 during flower in a larger more open space then in a closed box..I now use the tent for seedlings and veg, where the plants enjoy the higher humidity and higher temps. Just sharing what worked for me, it may not work for everyone..but definitely something to consider as you are getting setup and not after.
