I am trying to start my grow indoors then move them outside. I am having a terrible time getting started though. I got my seeds from Attitude, some of the strains are Trainwreck, Cheese, Auto Pakistani, Auto Afghan Kush, Lemon Skunk (DNA) and White Berry (paradise seeds). A lot of the seeds I got looked really small and almost black looking. They weren't that nice colored brown with black stripes that I'm used to.
I used the paper towel method (it has always worked for me before) in the middle of two small plates. I put the two plates on top of a heating pad on low and threw a blanket over them. The seeds would start to crack and some would show a tap root fixing to come out after about 12 hours. On some of them, I threw them straight into my FFOF/Ligh Warrior mix. The others, I waited for the taproots to come out further. The problem is, the taproots didn't continue to come out after they had cracked and shown themselves a little. I have pretty good experience doing this, I am just having a ton of trouble this time around right before my outdoor grow.
In the past I've germinated bag seeds just for the heck of it and after a couple of days the tap root would be almost 4-6 inches long after using this method.
Right now, I only have one TINY looking seedling (the cheese). I don't know if this thing is going to make it or not. Its very tiny and really curled up at the top. It came up yesterday and I haven't seen any improvement in the last 24 hours.
I've told attitude about this and they are supposed to give me a free seed or two with my latest order of 1 fem'd Skunk #1 + Cole Train freebie. If I can't get this next batch of seeds to germinate and sprout my 2010 grow is going to be a complete dud. I used to put germinated seeds in peat pots inside a humidity dome and that usually worked fine, but I've heard people say not to use these peat plugs. Should I just go back to what has really worked for me on past grows with the next batch of seeds or do you think the seeds I had were just unviable?
This is really freaking me out. I've bought like 10 big bags of fox farms Ocean Forest to put these things in outside and it could all be for nothing. I'm also trying to grow for my dad, who is a cancer patient. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Again, I don't know if its the seeds or just me. I've never had these kind of problems before. I usually get 100% of my seeds to germinate and sprout beautifully.
