Terrible time germinating Attitude seeds

I am trying to start my grow indoors then move them outside. I am having a terrible time getting started though. I got my seeds from Attitude, some of the strains are Trainwreck, Cheese, Auto Pakistani, Auto Afghan Kush, Lemon Skunk (DNA) and White Berry (paradise seeds). A lot of the seeds I got looked really small and almost black looking. They weren't that nice colored brown with black stripes that I'm used to.

I used the paper towel method (it has always worked for me before) in the middle of two small plates. I put the two plates on top of a heating pad on low and threw a blanket over them. The seeds would start to crack and some would show a tap root fixing to come out after about 12 hours. On some of them, I threw them straight into my FFOF/Ligh Warrior mix. The others, I waited for the taproots to come out further. The problem is, the taproots didn't continue to come out after they had cracked and shown themselves a little. I have pretty good experience doing this, I am just having a ton of trouble this time around right before my outdoor grow.

In the past I've germinated bag seeds just for the heck of it and after a couple of days the tap root would be almost 4-6 inches long after using this method.

Right now, I only have one TINY looking seedling (the cheese). I don't know if this thing is going to make it or not. Its very tiny and really curled up at the top. It came up yesterday and I haven't seen any improvement in the last 24 hours.

I've told attitude about this and they are supposed to give me a free seed or two with my latest order of 1 fem'd Skunk #1 + Cole Train freebie. If I can't get this next batch of seeds to germinate and sprout my 2010 grow is going to be a complete dud. I used to put germinated seeds in peat pots inside a humidity dome and that usually worked fine, but I've heard people say not to use these peat plugs. Should I just go back to what has really worked for me on past grows with the next batch of seeds or do you think the seeds I had were just unviable?

This is really freaking me out. I've bought like 10 big bags of fox farms Ocean Forest to put these things in outside and it could all be for nothing. I'm also trying to grow for my dad, who is a cancer patient. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Again, I don't know if its the seeds or just me. I've never had these kind of problems before. I usually get 100% of my seeds to germinate and sprout beautifully.

was the dna lemon skunk a freebie? if so i had problems, it popped ok. but it just looks sickly and terrible genes compared to my TGA and dj shorts.

i want to say it looks like a shwag plant, im difinatly not using the freebie's anymore

Yep it was a freebie, I can't even get the thing to germinate properly though. Right now I'd take a bunch of bagseeds over these fem'd seeds I've gotten. At least if I had a bunch of bag seeds I know I could get at least 6-8 to grow properly and at least get them to the seedling stage. I'm not having trouble with just the freebies, but the one's I actually bought as well. Again a lot of them looked very small and almost black looking. I don't know if this tiny curled up cheese seedling is going to grow or not. If not, all I've got to work with is this next small batch of seeds from the attitude. I would be ecstatic if I could just get 3 nice looking seedlings to sprout. After that point, I know how to take care of them. This could all be a huge failure though.

i will never pop a freebie again. and i am skeptic of dna genes too.

i pop mine in ocean forest soil/ heating pad method. and THEY did take 7 days to pop. the longest ive had to wait.

good luck though

funny.. i've never had problems with DNA genetics. I wish I still had my old hard-drive.. it had some of my old grows on it. Including the 'freebie' 'DNA Lemon Skunk'... I didn't have any probs' with the Lemon Skunk seed.. although I will agree with you both on the fact that that strain does seem to have some genetic problems of some sort.. as I also had problems getting it to germinate correctly. But again.. once I got her to pop for me.. I planted her into my soil.. and she grew like jumping jacks.. I got right around an ounce and a half ounce from her once harvested/dried/and cured.

You guys sure your not maybe possibly doing something wrong?? I always double check myself when I have a grow going.. to make sure I got everything the way it should be.. you know?

Good luck!

peace.

it could just be the phenotype

like i siad up there, i have querkle, and dj's blue moon growing leaps and bounds. i even have a blue moon that is 3 weeks behind the lemon skunk, and you couldnt tell them apart from their height, foliage, etc...

i guess its not right to slander a breeder over one bad bean so ill hold my judgement until its done or i try another:weed:

I'm pretty sure I'm not doing anything wrong. I've got several grows under my belt and this is how I always germinate the seeds. Trust me, I am trying to find something I'm doing wrong, but I just can't. All I know is pretty much all of the seeds I got looked really tiny and were very dark (almost black) looking.

I do have some VERY good news to report though. After typing about bagseeds on this thread earlier, I remembered about 5 or 6 months ago my dealer not having any of the good stuff that he usually does. Just for driving down to his house, he gave me a bag of swhag for free (probably about a half ounce). I just went searching for the bag I had it in (of course I still smoked it) and I found about 50 seeds. Most of them look a lot more viable than the seeds I got from Attitude. Most are a nice brown color with black stripes. Hala-fuckin-luya. I'm now in a lot better mood. I originally planned on just using fem'd seeds of course because I didn't want to deal with waisting 10-15 gallons of premium soil on possible males. Now I really don't care.

I just want to get a nice harvest for my dad. I'll see how the next batch of seeds from attitude look and try them out, but I am definitely going to sprout at least 5 or 6 of these bagseeds (more if I have no luck with the attitude seeds). I'm not trying to blast Attitude, I just seem to have gotten a bad batch of seeds from them. I've ordered from them plenty of times and have never had this problem. Hopefully the next batch that is being shipped will work out fine. That Cole Train sounds really, really good. Anyone know about that Silver Haze pheno (jasmine) they use in it?? I had some old school Silver Haze about 7 or 8 years ago and its the best smoke I've ever had in my life.

super silver haze is some top notch smoke

could of been a bad batch of beans, or just life, not every bean is meant to pop.

but having a big ol' batch of high priced beans not pop, that is unnacceptable IMO

I'm just happy as hell I have those bagseeds now to work with. I never thought I'd be so happy to see a bunch of bagseeds lol. And yeah I talked to Rachel at the Attitude about that batch of seeds and she said she would hook me up with the order I made on Monday morning. I'm not sure if she's just going to give me one free seed, a couple of free seeds or just completely forget about it. She told me to leave a message on my order to pass to her and I did. She responded with another email by saying "yes, I did this for you". I'm hoping she really hooked me up.

And yes that Silver Haze is some really good shit. The stuff I got was grown to absolute perfection. The guy said it was Silver Haze, not Super Silver Haze. I'm not sure what the difference is. They say that Jasmine that is in Cole Train is an old school Silver Haze phenotype though. I wonder if it could be the same thing I got that one time so many years ago. I've never in my life seen anything that looked and smoked like that stuff did. The stuff made me feel like I was on mushrooms. It was just a completely overpowering experience and it wasn't an everyday type smoke. It took me nearly a month to finish off an 1/8th of that stuff.

Weird. I have never had a problem with The Attitude Seed Bank, DNA Genetics, or Greenhouse Seeds. I would try to get in contact with the Seed bank and see what they are willing to do to make
you a satisfied customer. I can say that I have order over 200 seed from the Attitude and I have had maybe 5 at most never germinate. Hope this helps, and good luck. Bongs Away.

Yeah, I've ordered probably a 100+ from them in the past. Never had a problem with them until now. Out of 6 seeds, I only got one to germinate correctly and sprout. I just looked in on the whimpy little Cheese sprout and it is looking a lot better now. I think it will live.

I also just started germinating 10 of the bagseeds using the same method I always use. I bet by tomorrow at this time over half will already have a tail sticking out. We will see. With the seeds I germinated this past time, they would crack but that was about it. The tap roots wouldn't continue to come out of the shell. I don't know what was up with them.

Rachel at Attitude said she would hook me up, I'll let yall know what they gave me when I get my order.

yeah bro.. if Rachel over at Attitude says she's going to hook you up.. she's going to do exactly that. You'll be happy with what you get... trust me I've been in this position with Attitude before too.. yes.. indeed I too have gotten a bad batch of seeds that popped.. but wouldn't grow... and she sent me a free 5pack of 'Paradise Opium' feminized beans. That was about a year ago.. maybe not that long. Was a good strain too.. much better than the ones I ended up with in the beginning. I'll tell ya that much.

But yeah, sometimes when you order seeds online.. sometimes (maybe 1 order out of every 50 orders..) you might end up with a bad batch of seeds. But other than that.. I've pretty much always gotten good viable seeds from them.

Nirvana seeds are good too... I know alot of people that haven't had good experiences with Nirvana.. but I've made exactly 3 orders from them in the past six months.. and each batch of seeds all three orders.. the seeds were in great condition.. all popped.. I mean I might have lost a plant or two.. but eh that's going to happen no matter how good of a grower you are ya dig?

Shit happens.. ;)

Good luck to all of ya though.

peace.

Thanks man, I hope Rachel hooks me up with a Bubba Kush seed. I told her I was going to order the Bubba Kush but it went from in-stock Sunday night to out of stock Monday morning when I ordered. I think it maybe because they are giving them away as freebies I do believe. I do know I'm getting a Skunk #1 fem'd and Cole Train fem'd. I chose the Skunk #1 because it is supposed to be really easy to grow. I'd be happy as hell if she sends me an extra five pack of seeds like she did with your order. These 10 bagseeds should be seedlings by the time I get my order. I might have to cut some down or just throw them out in the woods somewhere and see what they do. Having too many seeds is a lot better than too few. I'm happy as hell I found those bagseeds. There's at least 50 of them and I'd say 90% look viable.

attitude is just the vendor. not the breeder so it's really not their fault unless they had a deal with DNA in which DNA told them there was a problem.

True...and that's why I'm just baffled that I've had so many problems with seeds from different seed companies. My order came with the ones I listed earlier and also with some LA Confidential, Jack The Ripper and 3-D seeds that were for my friend. He is also having more trouble than usual getting his started. Not as bad as I have had, but more trouble than expected. Those Jack The Ripper seeds in that pack looked really good. They are HUGE and I don't think he's had any problems with those.

Definitely a problem with attitude out of thirty seeds I got 4 plants did everything rite and seeds were from dutch passion greenhouse dinafem and g13labs so it's not the breeders even my first grow which was years ago I had a better germ rate from ten seeds I won't be using them again maybe it's the way they store the seeds or they are old shit steer clear peeps il be buying my seeds on foot from now on !!

Good luck to you. Attitude has one of the best reps in the biz. IMO none of those breeders is top rung, but that's my interpretation. Hemp Depot has always treated me well, but it's a send and wait situation. No internet orders.
