Test bud?

I’m in day 40F(Pic from last night) I go back to work Jan 15th breeder recommends 8-10Wks for flower I’m going into week 6 as of Dec 23. I plan on chopping Jan 10th but wanted to chop a test bud from the lower stems a few days before I chop the plant. Would that be okay?
Chopping that early would be a big mistake. Everything you have been pushing for will be a disappointment. Let it finish is my best advice.

That plant is easily going to go 70 days so you’re going to be chopping premature on your planned date. Breeder timelines mean nothing. 8 weeks never happens unless you’re cool with premie. Go ahead and test a 40 day bud joe and it won’t get you excited for harvest because it’s gonna suck. I often take test buds a week or so before chop. Doesn’t hurt the plant. People get a bit too paranoid.

I don’t think you all understand, currently at day 40, Jan 10th would crack day 60 and that’s when I want to take the testers, I plan on chopping the whole plant Jan 13th(Day63 week 9) but if the plant doesn’t look ready I’ll give it an extra week or two to get itself together.
Sorry misread that. Yes it would be perfectly fine to chop a test bud a couple days before you plan on harvesting. Good to see you will give it more time if needed.

I most definitely read it right. Ultimately I agree on the 10th being the date to take a tester.
Good thinkin' on not being set in stone with a complete chop. Since I know now what you meant, I'm with you 100%.
