Just get a digital cooking thermometer from walmart or whatever, some have remote probes attached via a wire, some are in the unit, they work good and should measure any temp you need, $10 or so...
My man! good idea and my nsf meat probe does do a large temp range ...............can second as a soil/compost probe kind of, it's a little short but works
You guessed it, worked another Sunday, losing days this week due to the holiday, fucking hate turkey love the wine though
..............hopefully the Italian fam is cooking some rabbit too, anyways update time.
Round 2 Day 58 of 13/11 from seed under timber's blux décor vero 29 fixture 1750K (296 watts) & osram 730nm trigger up my azz====== with my 4 anesthesia ladies.
.......ugly ass grow, had one coming I guess?,lol. So I checked the soil with the meat probe last couple of days and it's hovering around 64-66.6f, borderline but not low enough to lock out imo. Stuck my nose down into the medium and it smelled neutral not foul at all, so no rot happening either. My crimson clover seeds are coated(gifted to me), probably nitro, still shouldn't be enough to effect the SFW, bacteria are resistant == I would have seen problems way earlier.
As I watched the eagles destroy the cowboys last night I was thinking about how I never had any major issues in this 30 gal since using it for years now. Nothing has changed regarding medium (rols) , fert (vega), feeding schedule, etc== hmmmmmmm except two variables, strains and the goddam crimson cover crop this run. Honestly don't know shit about no till/ carbon farming so I google crimson clovers . Turns out they have some of the deepest root systems and nitrogen fixation properties of the clover family, fuck me. Makes sense now why the clovers are all greened up and my heavy nitrogen feeders (cannabis) are showing N/cal def. Without a proper soil test this is just a guess, but I think it's a solid one......
........So much for the warm up
, must have some cheap fucks like me in the building who won't turn the heat on this early. Chem ferts would clear this up quickly but I'm sticking with my plant/mineral based nutrient. I micronized the hell out of the DR earth's vega with my blade style coffee grinder(credit multipass) to speed up break down and absorption; heavy feeding. We will see if my hunch is correct, yield will suffer regardless at this point.......just trying to get something out of this run.
Be safe and happy growing RIU...............have a good holiday, don't drive like an asshole
