What up Y'all, been on hiatus for a bit from these forums, but I couldn't resist getting back into it. I decided to convert to cob about 6 months ago and finally went for it. All opinions, ideas, photos are welcomed in this thread.

This is my first fixture, cxb 3590 3500k x 8. Running off a 400w pairui driver. Nothing under it yet, but clones or seed run will be placed under soon.

The plan is to build a complete COB fixture every quarter until the whole space is converted.

In the mean time, I'll be cracking seeds for pheno hunts and documenting the finest plants. Right now I have a very nice Sensi Star, a Purple Storm (Escobar), and a KO Kush (Sannies). Photos from day 7 in flower. Running 10 gal soil ROLS.

Just put some freshly germed Breeders Boutique Fire Balls in soil this morning. Looking forward to the fire...

Some pics of the veg, double stack. Pic doesn't show the upper level, I'll get one after a while.

Thats it for now.

In the last pic of the Veg room, you can see the burple emanating from the top. It's a 300w htg supply burp from 2010, I notice a couple rows of chips going out on it the other day so it will have to get replaced with cobs soon. Funny thing is this is the only light I've achieved 1g/watt with.

8sq ft with 200w is more than enough to veg, buddy.
Cool, I think the veg lighting may be my next investment then. Try to grow some bigger bushes for the next round. I've got about another week before the next round goes into flower. Slow growing over here, but it'll be more exciting in a few weeks.

Btw, I'm running a propane burner at about 700-900 ppm, and just top dressed everything with an alfalfa meal blend. Watering once a week with fish emulsions and molasses. The flowering girls stretched a foot in the first week of flower, purple storm is almost to the third ring in the tomato cage. The plants were small going in so not expecting to large of a yield, but we'll see in about 8 weeks:weed:

I hear ya, not a big fan of hydro though I've done DWC, ebb flow, and top feed coco before, but just always go back to soil. I typically end up with some leaf burn with hydro, and get lazy on the ph and shit.

This recycled soil I'm using produces green, vigorous, healthy plants, and its more of an art for me. I rarely measure anymore, been growing organic for a minute. Filtered water only, never ph, and add molasses and fish emulsions once a week. Top dress when they need it, and go for a nice fade at the end. All while being super cheap.. Did I mention this soil is in its third cycle?

8 out of 10 fireballs are up in 1 gals, 2 kollosus (Sannies) female seed run waiting patiently for their turn to flower

Purple Storm selection, under the new cob fixture. Purple calyxes, musty, grape, floral, dense, and stoney. Day 10 flower

Sensi Star from a freebie. Strong, cherry, afgan kush pheno, resinous, sturdy.

The rest of the group under 750de, all reaching for the last ring of the tomato cage. KO kush is bottom left. She's a wide, sagging, fuely, skunky, frost coated bitch.

Aero cloner diy strait from HD using 3/4'' pipe insulation for the plant holders. Works great.

I'm growing out a cross I made a few years back called Crescent Moon. 3 year old seed 10/10 cracked and I have 5 females out of that. Should start flowering in a few weeks... can't wait.

Found an interesting anomaly with one of the Crescent Moon (Chem dawg#4 x Glue X mail man). She threw out a couple of male sacks before he decided to go she. The group is about 30 days old and have all shown sex in veg. Has anyone had experience with this sorta thing? I want to run her (it) anyway and see what it will do. Anyway pics.

000_0010.JPGfemale 2 nodes up

Business as usual
Day 14 Sensi Star

Day 2 flower. 2 Kollosus from seed, I'm excited to see what these do, should stretch quite a bit, 9-10 wk flowers. Purple storm and sensi in this group too.

Great pics and info. I am trying to do a DIY aero cloner.

Dumb Question: I have pipe insulation but the hole for the pipe is too big to hold the stem. DO you cut a slightly smaller hole in Tupperware and pull the insulation closer/pinch it to hole the stem? Or do you cut and small insulation piece to act as a plug to hold the stem?

You do top notch work and the plants look amazing. Thanks.:-)

Hey @Colo MMJ thanks man. You can see in the picture I wrap the pipe insulation around the cutting.
000_0001 (1).JPG
I believe the hole is 1'' cut with a hole saw, but I bet you could do better with a box cutter. The drill bit kept getting jammed.
000_0002.JPG
Here you can see I tapered the ends so it would fit snug and still have room for the stem. Cut them with scissors
000_0004.JPG
I honestly can't remember what size pipe insulation this is, but this is the 4th or 5th batch of clones taken with it and they keep working great.

Last week I LST'ed all the branches out of the tomato cages and I'm glad I did, because the canopy has filled in really well. Gonna yield real nice if everything keeps going like it has been. Co2 still around 8-900, though I think I will bump it up a bit tonight.
