i never grew agent orange or jtr but aos i started out with a 10-pack & got 6 females 2 of which turned a lavender color & ended up going into other grows this is a well rounded strain that will hold its own against anything out there it grows, clones & yields good quality smoke ive got friends still growing it as it performs so well gets really sticky too also does well outdoors
Hell yea. The pheno i have reminds me of the querkle plant i had last run. But the querkle stank to high heaven. What charafteristics did your aos lavenders have ?

Thats pretty much what i thought. I wasnt 100% sure though.

Honestly. Im extremely paranoid im going to ruin the whole crop. I am honestly considering just tossing the males, even though theyre almost good to go. I would hate to have a completely seeded batch. And the closer these males get to producing all this pollen, the more paranoid i get. Everyone says it doesnt take much to seed a crop.
Maybe im just bugging out, but i would almosy prefer to wait and try this till i have a room specifically designed for males. Right now im just winging it.
Hey ricky,

Don't want to throw them out now. You want to wait till wk 4 to pollinate that will leave at least 4. It's best to store the pollen without the plant matter, but you live in an arid climate, you can save the pods in an open bag in a cool, dark, dry place for a wk or so. If you're ready for sex right now, then go to the areas that have opened and knock the pods off into a bag. Tie the bags, to the bud head you want to polinate. (always clean the outside of the bag before going into the grow area, turn off your fans while attaching the bag. Once secured mist the plant well. Mist again just prior to removing the bags, shake the branch to remove any loose pods, then mist area below attachment point really well. If possible pull plant out of grow space to remove bag. I do all of it in my room. I've gotten a few strays but never any heavy seeded buds.

Thatnks wattsaver. I think i took 1 too many hits the other day and started gettin paranoid about it. But I'm gonna follow through and give it a shot. You guys have givin enough advice so hopefully it all goes well.

On a side note, I was just sitting looking at the ladies and noticed something exciting. The AOS is already starting to show a little color in some of the lower buds. Its extremely faint, but it's a good indicator i have the bcs pheno, which is awesome.

Alright I'm bored so here's some pictures of a Seedsman White widow I grew out some time ago. She was under a 400w hps in a rdwc system. She ended up giving me around 5.5 zips.. Not too bad for the lousy training job I did. haha. Just something to look at until these new ladies grow up a bit.

Damn dude that's pretty impressive hey! Nice buds :-D
Thanks buddy. I was happy with the quality, just not the weight. You can see how large the plant is and the amount of lolipoping i had to do. Had i trained her better she would have been better. But we learn as we grow.

Yeah thats it man, growing can be an artform sometimes hey ;)

It is without a doubt an art. When i first got into growing i just assumed it was easy. I mean how hard can it be to grow a plant. Im sure most people start off like that. Buying whatever nutrients i hear grow big nugs, careless training, poor enviroment conditions.
To be honest i havent even broke .5 grams per watt yet. And I've been growing for 3 years. Sad i know. But through this time I've came to the conclusion that canopy management is probably the single most important factor in yield. I've also ditched the excessive additives that seem redudant.
I actually just learned about mainlining and i think it's a fantastic concept for making even canopies. Too bad i didnt know of this method before i started training these girls now. Next grow I'll be giving it a try for sure though.
I like the idea of mainlining for 32 tops on one plant under one light. Tieing the branches out into a large even circle and droping the light in the middle of the plant for a vertical grow. Looks good in my head anyways.

Yeah man that's it, i doubt many people were just gifted with the knack straight up hey! Im lucky my first few years of growing was outdoor and i had a good friend who owned a hydro shop so he put me on to the cheapest organic nutes and gave me the best advice on how not to 'over care' for my plants. Sometimes its very much strain dependent as to the g/watt output. Ive had plants give me 650g under 800w and ive had plants barely give me 400g under the same lights in the same environment. As long as they are healthy and potent thats all that matters to me :) i only grow for personal use and the pure joy of growing now so im not phased about g/watts anymore! 32 tops sounds perfect ;)
You are spot on about canopy control too, the more bud sites that see light, the more yield you'll end up with in my opinion. Mainlining is also a great way of doing that too, i'll be trying my hand at it next grow i think, for something different :)

No doubt about the strain playing a big role. Not gonna lie, i love huge yields. Thats not why i grow either, but the higher the yield i usually feel more accomplished.

Just a quick update.
The ladies have been getting watered every 3 days still. Im still feeding every watering with about 1050 ppm .
Im starting tk see some slight nutrient burn on a few of the plants. Due to this i thinm i'm going to change up the watering schedule. Considering I'm using 100% perlite it should be ok to water more frequently. So heres what i had in mind.
Day 1: feed
Day 3: straight water
Day 4: feed
Day 6: straight water.
Day 7. Feed
Etc.....
So basically when i feed, i let the plant use the nutrients for 2 days. Then 3rd day i use plain water. Then feed the following day and repeat. I think these flushes will help with whatever salts are building up to cause the nutrient burn. Plus i believe the flushes will also help the final smell and taste.
I was curious though, when should i do the final flush using this perlite? I feel like 2 weeks is unecessary.

hey rickymac sorry i didnt get back to you sooner the aos is like a querkle on steroids except it is a little more sativa leaning & as youre experiencing has more stretch ive grown querkle ,qrazy train, spacedawg & aos the aos hands down outgrew all the other sub-cool stuff ive tried the flavor not quite as nice as querkle but i think its overall more potent i have a friend still growing it commercialy because of yield ,easy to grow& clone bag appeal [not as dark purp as querkle i call it lavender] & smokes good to boot truly a well balanced hybrid also expect some pretty large buds that are just glistining with trichs

You can water more frequently in perlite but it won't change the conditions much in the rez if its full. So feeding the day after straight water won't leave much food behind for the next couple of days. I'd just reduce the feeding level but keep feeding with every watering. Flushing is one of those topics that is almost always going the start of an argument. Personally I don't flush, and to go 2wks without food just seems crazy to me.

Yeah when i say flush, i usually cut right back on nutes, usually back to 1/3 strength for a few days and then slowly add pH'd fresh water to my res every day after that till the end :)

Sorry for not replying to your posts guys. This has been a crazy week. Long story short i had to move the grow out of the house to a new location. That being said, i wont be able to post pictures as often.
But i will continue to keep you updated and give pictures when possible.

Some good news, i collected the pollen and sucessfully pollinate 3 pf the ladies. I managed to keep the pollen isolated to the branches i intended for as well. Which is nice. Looks like I'll have enough seeds for quite a few plants when its all said and done.

Sorry to hear you had to move it man but glad to hear of your pollination success :) hope it all works out well mate!!
