Dank!

My little crossings story:

One day there was a beautiful White widow, a gift from a friend.
So I started growing cannabis with this very strong strain [around 21%´of thc] with lemon and spicy flavor.

on the picture above: 2 ww females, F'x generation ['x meaning at least 5 or 6]

I purchased some Querkle...
40 days:

20 days:

both clones side by side:

When I'd launched querkle, one male was used with no control.
And he pollinated the White Widow!

Here's the first result: 40days
IMG_0894.jpg IMG_0896.jpg

The smell is just incredible, It is a querkle with bigger colas and bigger flavor, more on the fruit side while keeping the querkle trademark. overwhelming

I'm on the ass and can't wait to be in 30 days, time around for harvest.

I f@#!'d up with the pot size and so the feeding was wrong!
Too small [5.5L]... now she is in a 11L smart pot since days 32 into flowering.
maybe too late but it cant hurt even If she was overdosed with N. some leaves are clearly showing it.
in flo, 3gallons seems the straight minimum, 5 gallons is even better.

Yes I'm happy because I got at least 3 girls like this one and I gently prepare them for flowering.
The flavor is very similar, I'll see about structure... big colas wanted with rock feel when it is dry

Like my ao X aos, still have to take pictures of the dry buds, very productive, very all in fact! :)

The whole box [aka the tiny and fulfilled little bastard]:

There is an AoS hidden in the middle:

Extra note, you can see the querkle is a bit yellowish.
I moved her too much under the light, the leaves havn't appreciated it.
+ now I think I'll add a bit amount of compost around 28 days, for green and healthy leaves.
If the fading happens at 50 days, it is all good.

oh men, when I begin writing about me myself and the ganja... bongsmilie

Too much AoS for smokin i guess.
Cheers:bigjoint:

20.JPGi followed subcool's super soil recipe from high times. i could not find roots organic for very cheap so i tried to make my own similar base soil. i used fertilome which is just peat moss, perlite, lime, and a wetting agent to keep the soil from drying too quickly. i added a little kelp, vermiculite(why not i had some), coco fiber, extra perlite because fertilome doesnt have much. and this fox farm 5-5-5 fertilizer which had some similar ingredients to the roots along with mycorrhizae. i found a soil test kit on clearance at a hardware store and seen what it said. im not sure the accuracy but the ph was around 8. i was a bit disappointed but stuck with it. NPK were all very high. i do my final transplant in 5 gallon grow bags and add some N bat guano to the top of the soil. so far it has been plenty to get me thru veg. i use RO water and ph every time. since the soil was a bit too alkaline i let the ro water ph go closer to about 6.1-6.5 instead of 6.3-6.8. not sure if it was a good idea but i know it's not going to kill them. anyone know if it really makes a difference to ph ro water for soil grows? since the ph is so unstable won't the water just change anyway when it gets absorbed into the soil? my RO comes out at 4.something. doesnt take much ph up to raise it. the plants seem all be healthy. little bit of the claw leaves going on on the smaller leaves by the buds. it seems like the plants are growing at a much faster rate than when i was using the FF trio. environmental conditions are virtually the same as before. thinking of using roots 707 next time if i can find a good deal on bulk. i've already been trying it for the base soil to mix with the super soil on the final transplant.

If you can get your hands on a PPM meter, check the PPM of your reverse osmosis water and see where its @... Those meters are also a good way to figure out when you need to replace your filters/membrane (just make sure the meter is usable below 100ppm, I made the mistake of buying 1 that starts working at 100ppm+)... But if your RO water is coming out @ less than 50ppm, you dont need to bother adjusting the PH... The TDS/PPM should be 0 unless your filter/membrane needs replacing or it has a permeation pump like mine which adds 15-30ppm of cal/mag back into the water after it strips it down to 0-PPM, which does not require me to ph.

When you use RO water there isnt enough dissolved solids (theres supposed to be none I.E. 0-ppm) so there isnt anything maintain a PH.. Its going to be influenced by #1 what you add to the water, and #2 what you add that water to... So if your soil is on point with lime and/or whatever PH buffers that are in your "dert", you'll be fine once you stop PH-ing your water (or replace your filter if need be).

Above and beyond that the best thing you can do is get a halfway decent (aka accurate) soil PH meter that you can occasionally check your soils PH.. Its how I know when my SS and any other soil I may be cooking/composting is done.. Once the PH is above 6 - 6.2 its more than usable... Most times its going to hover around 7 if your adding enough lime, and this is why subcool recommends PH-ing your water down to 6.5, but because your using RO, there isnt enough minerals/solids in the water to require PH-ing... If your soil is right, your good...

As long as your using RO water, theres no need to PH anything other than your soil is the bottom line... Its an added complication if using RO water.... And in most cases even aerated tap water doesnt need to be PH-ed as long as the PPM of the water is below 100 or so, however if the PH was way outta wack (below 5.5/above 7.5) with a ppm value at or above 50, its best to adjust your PH at least a little bit anyhow.. Its a situation thing and each grower needs to figure that one out...

And your ladies are looking dank by the way, nice work...

Nice. I had 4 beans of 9lb hammer but the one I just started ended up male so saving it for pollen. Did you notice less branching on the 9lb hammer? My little male is straight up like a popsicle with hardly any lateral growth. What is there is small.
I had one pheno like that. The others took off and branched out. I only topped them once and they grew pretty fast.

I grew the hammer this year outdoors..must say its a crazy strain..lol..I got 2 females and 1 male out 3 planted...1 fem took 6 1/2 weeks and was fully matured..20% amber..the other fem took 8 weeks to mature...funny thing is they both looked alike and smelled alike..this is a no fool around strain...it kicks your ass down in the dirt...glad I took clones...my son won a oil competition using the hammer...wicked good taste..strong terp profile

Oh I used the male pollen to cross the 2 females and also a Ace of Spaces..got seeds from all..cant wait till spring...I grow outdoors in a greenhouse...both plants reached 9 feet and tons of bud sites...and very liitle rot to speak of...rock hard buds...loaded in sugar...made some wicked dry ice hash with it...each plant came close to a lb dried..worth the grow ..its fire

best hash I ever made came from 9lb and quantum kush. The 9lb flavor is so good cherry/ blueberry / skunky. Just wait til after you cure for a while. It will knock you on your ass. It's my fav strain. I have more 6 more seeds out of 15. I kind of want a male to do some breeding. I have other breeding projects coming up first so...
