TGA seeds are Stable the line is similer, Taste like Berrys, it's mom is Black cherry soda(kush)

plushberry you will find a keeper in a 5 pack
blueberry you will be lucky if you get that Keeper in a 10 pack

Plushberry does't hermi as easy as the Blueberry.

But if you want a really good strain, try Tru blueberry (that shit is the shit)

I did not realize that dj's blueberry had changed, that actually explains a lot. I have had two experiences growing clones of mothers from that seedstock, once early 2001, and then again in around 2009. The cut that I grew in 2001 was the classic keeper pheno of that strain, and produced bountiful high quality yields. The cut in 2009 was substantially more finicky, and took a lot of nute retooling to get optimal performance out of, which was still not what I had gotten out of my previous run. I thought I had just gotten cuts from a mediocre pheno, but the parent gentics changing explains a lot. That is all the experience I have, so if the genetics have changed since the late 90's I can't say one way or the other, aside from that my last experience with dj's blue was reasonable, but definitely not optimal.

Ran 30 seeds of plushberry and did not find a keeper.
All BCS phenos ended up throwing nanners..
plus they were anything but, stable uniform plants.
First and most likely last experience with TGA

I have grown Dj short's blueberry. And it was an exeptional strain. The smoke its self was hallucinogenic. And the blue hues upon maturity were a site for sore eyes. All the times I grew it it was homogenous.

I've grown out Plushberry, not DJ's BB though, so I can only cmoment on the PB.

First off, it is NOT stable; I got 3 different phenos from a pack of 5. Every female is different, one was pathetic yielding, one had no colors and the third has pinks and purples in her. I selected that as a keeper. Yield isn't that great but flavor is off the charts good. My personal favorite tasting lady in the garden. I've had no hermie issues, now on the 3rd generation. From reading posts I guess I got lucky.

If you go with the PB expect a pheno hunt. I saved my keeper just for taste, if you're looking fir a cash cropper this isn't it. If you don't mind the hunt and are looking for flavor it might suit your needs.

never grown out either companies gear ... but if you've ever read or listened to DJ short talk about breeding, genetics, and/or growing. He KNOW's just about all there is to know, he's a fucking slave for finding phenos to breed with, genetic drifts... if i understand correctly, DJ is experimenting now with shorter light cycles on his gear to try and satisfy the impatient consumer who wants a quick flowering plant (which he stated is going to be a looong process)

almost everyone has read or experienced how much of a bitch DJ's BB is to grow ...which is why almost all of his other beans are crosses of blueberry. I'm if the BB doesn't give you what you want .. you can find the true BB pheno in one or any of his other crosses.....Much like Sub i guess ...... everyone (knowingly or not) are looking for that spacequeen pheno when they're growing out sub's gear.
subcool knows his shit, but DJ KNOWS his shit... i think subcool would agree on that.

Actually, there is a thread Sub made about DJ Short's BB and he blasted the living hell out of DJ and BB. So no, I dont think Subcool would agree with you on that.

In your experience, assuming you only grew out ONE pack. Regular seeds are regular seeds. It's a random crap shoot that has nothing to do with the breeder. And in the run I did, I got 6 fems.

Not stable? If we're referring to Dutch Passion Blueberry, I would agree. But Dj Short Blueberry was very stable in my run. Only two phenos. I just love how people comment on a strain they have never grown.

I believe he was originally going to name the plushberry hybrid 'Pink Lady' because of some pink in one of the phenos, but then after smoking Pink Lady, he swore there was Kush in there somewhere. Pink Lady + Kush = PLush .....and then he added 'berry'. Plushberry is neither a kush nor a berry, discuss (SNL reference anyone?).

LOL, so he "assumed" there was a Kush in there? I did not know that. I love Subcool, but man, that is disappointing to hear.

i'd love to see the link or name of the thread if it's available. I respect most breeders ...especially sub and DJ ..... i think we cleared up that BB can be a bitch. But if sub is blasting DJ .... the guys got serious fucking issues... but i sincerely hope that sub wouldn't stoop to that level.
either way .... i may not have grown the gear but i know who i'd go to first for questions about breeding and plant selection.

I dont really understand why some people are bashing creating F-1 hybrids from established strains...

How else do people breed...? In order to create good hybrids, you need to start with good parents right?

No work involved in this?

Growing tons of plants, searching for the phenotype your looking for, and then doing it all over again to choose a father, seems like work and risk involved to me.

For the benefit of who?, other growers who need good seeds.

I understand the difference between a stable heirloom variety, and a new F-1 hybrid, but there is nothing wrong with creating something new from whats out there IMO.

Ive got TONS of crosses planned for my future projects, and they will all be F-1 hybrids from stable, DANK genetics.

for real I would like to see this thread I heard him run his mouth on the weed nerd about DJ's blueberry but the guys got no room to talk about stability
