Tga. Still got it? Worth investing? What ya think

Vortex #9 mom in 7gal pot. She takes up 1/4 of a 4x4 tent, looks like it's pruning time again. I started flowering two of her clones today.

Man if I had a dollar for every garden a TGA hermie strain has ruined I’d be a rich man. Garbage and lazy practices led to Subpar genetics. Sure there’s gold to be found, there always will be when you cross a good strain, but stability and variation were awful in his older lines, can’t speak to anything lost 2014, I was over it.

Called him out on it once, asking if EVERYONE literally wants the BCS pheno of Plushberry why wouldn’t you isolate it, he said so people could pick what they wanted but literally everyone wants the BCS pheno, that’s total BS.

Seems as though you want the bcs pheno not everyone. N yeah I've had a couple of their genetics herm but shit i've had a lot of peoples genetics herm and I would say mostly dew to me and my grow environment. Still not an excuse but still my fault. That said a lot of other breeders used his gear for projects that says a lot to me.

That is what worries me, a lot of pollen chuckers chucked his gear, doesn’t make it good. I avoid anything made from his genetics. Who popped Plushor AoS looking for a green pheno? Those fathers were seed lines you could buy. I’ve grown BCS, amazing plant.
It wasn’t just you poor practices, he never tested his gear, he never discontinued those troubled lines, he never cared about anything but the money. When did hermie prone seeds become OK? I won’t breed or keep anything that herms.

It's pedal schwag, came with a fuzz pedal I bought. I used to use the Dunlop tortex picks, still got some. Purple is the heavy gauge, green is lighter, and yellow is good for acoustic strumming.

Nothing to contribute on the genetics side, but I do have a lot of guitar pics lol. I prefer the heavier pics but use medium gauges also. I keep some lighter gauge ones around for when friends come over to jam too. I prefer pics with the texture grip on them these days.

as far as the hermies...baisically any seed line with jack herer that hasn't been inbreed a lot is going to have hermies...it's baisically mut weed...herrmie weed from south america bred into and hermie weed from everywhere bred into...land races in the equator are usually hermies...you can get lucky tough and find an amazing plant...
really stable lines I think you can stress them out a ton and all they will do is shoot a couple hermie flowers...
whoever made his newer subcool seeds didn't know what they were doing...they weren't healthy seeds...
what if subcool was like operation green merchant x1000...pretend to be this bro and try to infiltrate everything...they had agents infiltrate them back in the day but they tought there kids about them now...hell a dea agent nowadys will even get weed tattoos to fool you. im not kidding. I really want to like him... everyone know the space queen is insane amazing weed...just something doesn't feel right to me. it's likke they are setting something up to control once weed goes federally legal...

I’m not the only one, plenty are doing it right… but sadly it’s too late to reach the massss.

As someone whose grown a ton of TGA since 2011, I’d say if your going to get some I’d go with Mz Jill, Norstar/overstock, or Badger.

Those 3 still have a lot of his strains and some are original line ups.

Will/Subcool seeds I’m not as sure about. Seems like a nice dude, but I never really knew him like I did Sub. I’ll have to wait and see on some others growing it out first so I can see some results before I spend on his genetics for now.

Sub was one of a kind and I know a lot of people didn’t like him as he could definitely be harsh and an asshole, but he was always very kind and generous to me. I bet he sent me over 1k+ seeds and never once asked for anything other than feedback/testing on my results.

Most of them were for testing but I got a ton of stock seeds to anytime I asked.

As for the people saying he sold a lot of untested genetics….being a tester for him I disagree. He was always emailing me about results and progress.

In fact I personally grew out multiple strains of his that never made it out of testing after I and others reported to him that they weren’t stable due to intersex traits.

We’re a lot of his strains poly hybrids with wide variances in phenos? Sure, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t tested.

Specifically BCS I can say probably shouldn’t of made it out, but the Pink pheno was in super high demand/unique and it’s not like he was hiding it was finicky (throw nanners if stressed) and would in some phenos auto flower in veg if it ran out of root space.

I can say black delahia and Oregon blues didn’t make it out and both of them had some top notch phenos, but he axed them due to instability issues.

IMO anyone who is growing a new strain from seed should be hyper vigilant about looking for intersex traits in their flower room. I don’t care what breeder you chose it’s bound to show up occasionally if you grow a lot from seed.

I think he actually thoroughly did test his gear.

Not just through testers but growing himself too.

Theres a reason he didn't drop a new strain every month like these new guys....sometimes he came out with multiple strains at a time but thats different.

Theres a reason that so many ppl in the seed industry admired/loved this guy and it certainly wasnt because he had untested/unstable/shit genetics.....nobody says that shit about Shantibaba/ mr nice seeds and theyre packs have sometimes 5+ phenotypes. But they are tested, they are fire genetics and theyre as stable as they can be while still offering multiple phenos.

Stabilized (1-2 pheno) strains are nice...but its also awesome to run something with 5+ phenos where youre able to select your personal favorite pheno rather than a hyped pheno that ends up not meeting expectations.

I look back with fond nostalgia for sub and tga now, back then I can't say I was the biggest fan but some of his strains like ace of spades where fucking great, same with chernobyl.

Reason I look back with a feeling of nostalgia is tga got big in the prohibition era of the 2000s among growers and I feel like thats when a lot of people were starting to really focus on certain terps and trichome production. Some big time breeders now who are killing it definitely fucked with subs gear. I mean ya you could get phenos all over the place in one pack but you could also find the one keeper you know you were keeping around for 5 years + that how good it was. I look back with fondness on querkle, vortex, and jtr...all were fire . I wouldn't be surprised if some big named breeders renamed some tga strains and worked into their crosses somewhere down the line, sub's gear no doubt had some tasty terp profiles. Rip sub

I don't know their history, I mean they got divorced a long while ago right? She hates Sub or hated him? Thought I've heard not so great things about her actually.

I dont know whats up with the Mz jill drama....but when I decided to purchase a pack of Jilly Bean F2, I had sent her a message talking about how I always wanted to run that strain and how awesome it was that she had it and i gave praise to Subcool too.

She responded thanking me for the support, she didn't really touch on subcool, but she seemed alright to me

Maybe she gets frustrated because she has had a part in breeding many of tga/subcools lines, but sub gets all the credit and ppl write her off as basically being subs girl instead of a talented breeder in her own right??.....just my guess.

How did those f2's come out?

For me, the TGA 'sweet spot' in time was when he was in Oregon and the first couple years in California + the colab w/ Hero's of the Farm.
