Breeding autos is very hard. You're not breeding them unless you're growing thousands of plants. It is way outside the realm of most growers. That is, doing proper breeding. You can chuck some pollen and make seeds of course from already bred/worked lines. Don't expect to be able to improve on them without being able to grow thousands of plants though.
 
I like regular seeds as they give males. I have no strong opinion though either way. You can get fantastic plants from either, just make sure the source is good. I tend to not support breeders who only offer feminized seed.
 
Go back a page and have a look at that 12-12 thread mate, it'll give you an idea of strains that stay small and flower well whilst still immature, the op dell666 is a uk grower and runs a perpetual
 
Let me follow up more on this. I think you'd be best looking at a nice hybrid with the effect you're looking for. To get that stretch. Pure indicas probably wouldn't be ideal given what you want your plant numbers to be. I'd look for nice F1's with hybrid vigor. Lots of MNS gear falls into this category.

Sannie is good shit. I love his Sugar punch a lot, 9 week very sativa dominant. Hard hitting and tasty. That's a fem seed (every pheno a potential keeper as far as I can tell), regular seeds I am giving NLxHaze a go and I bet you could find something good for you in a pack but you'd have to hunt a bit.

Hey guys thanks for the whole info. I didnt know autos still have such a bad rep. I have no problem with doing say 5-6 12-12 from seed. I wanna do it in coco and i see the guy with that thread uses coco. Should be fun.

Dragon...I have the time/space/experience to deal with finding "the pheno" and think it's fun. I propagate all my keepers. But if I got a 10 pack, expecting to get 5ish females for a borderline legal head stash, I would want/expect more uniformity. Not much else I can say...I respect your reply, your straight up.
Sub as a person is an amazing guy (super soil, weed nerd, being open to communication) whether you like his genetics. Have to give props as a grower and honest person in this industry.

I agree that 12-12 from seed should as good as auto's. Regs won't flower till they are mature enough anyways. But no personal experience with auto so just my thoughts. 150 hps should be perfect for that space and 12-12 seed...any bit of veg will help. It is worth the extra 1-3 weeks to veg a good strain than try to take a shortcut.

"Fems are for pussies" is based on a breeders stand point... Feminizing takes away the genetic integrity of the plant and is more prone to hermies. Growers put in a lot of time and work to develop strains and genetics. Anyone can get lucky and build a company by just feming the 1 in million seed, is the theory for purest grower/breeders. It's kinda like growing organic...more work but more honest product comes out. Some buyers on the other hand want an easy pop and grow with no work.
