10 oct 09 - 5 seeds started in paper towel that was placed into a mason jar

12 oct 09 - had left lid on the jar, condensation in the jar caused me to remove it, seeds showed no signs of growth

14 oct 09 - all 5 beans are seedlings, removed from paper towel and placed in 16 oz. cups with recycled FF Ocean Forest, placed under 4 - 23w CFLs on 24/0 (for now)

updates and pics will be posted as soon as anything interesting happens...

today at 11 am i looked in on the soon to be plants and nothing had happened yet. at 2 pm i checked again and one of the seedlings was above ground. at 11:30 pm a 2nd plant was coming up. 5 days from germ and already sprouting!

so at 3 am a 3rd sprout had emerged. at 1030 am all 5 are above ground. nothing too exciting except the speed at which these seeds have grown.

correction about the lights i'm using: there are 4 - 26w 6500k CFLs, not 23w... today a 42w 2700k was added to mix the spectrum.

yeah the only sativas i've grown were Power Skunk plants. those and these TSS were freebies from Attitude.
i REALLY liked the PS, probably the best i've ever grown. they were really a pain to keep nutrients in, they never liked 'em. plain water is what i found to work best. oh, and indoors the PS would've grown to 8 feet if i had not topped it TWICE.

i harvested a thai skunk a couple weeks ago. yeilded just under an ounce and a half. i cut it at around 16 weeks but it could have gone alot longer, at least 18 weeks. to be honest the bud looks like shit, smell very weird, but it gets me high as shit. it is a very busy up high. for example yesterday i smoked a joint and it made me get off the couch and do yard work. it really is a motivating high. i enjoy the smoke alot. good luck with the plants man.

p.s.- some things i noticed with my plant is that nutes never bothered it, but my high temps did, so watch the temps. i also topped mine and had minimal veg time and this plant gets tall qiuck.

well, it's been more than a few weeks... my "seedlings" had been growing under CFLs until dec. 20th. they are now under a 600w hps that arrived that day.
this is just an update to show the clones and other things that i've now got going.

pic1: the clone/seedling box
(there are 4 red cups, each of those are TSS)
pic2: plant #4.1 a clone of my TSS
pic3: 4 "dumpster" plants started from seed
(supposedly a clone only strain, but we found 4 seeds out of 3 bags we had gotten from a reputable source)

here's the 1st of the bagseed plants (#3 was her name, lol) to get pulled. not much yield to her, but the smoke seems above average.

note: :cuss: ALL of this initial batch were stressed to the max because of a house fire on Nov 4. i ran back into my burning house to move 'em, turn out the lights, etc. before the police and firefighters roamed unchecked through the house trying to get rid of the smoke. :fire:

^i incorrectly named the plant above^ it was #8 in my naming system...

the "thai super skunk" plants are 39" tall now, they are on the left in pic1... i cut the tops off 2 weeks ago, they grew 3 inches after that. the buds seem to be coming in, but 14 weeks sounds like an optimistic harvest time.
not pictured here is the clone of plant #9. today i took it out of it's party cup and put her into a 3 gal. pot in this closet.

pic1: the closet
pic2: plants #s 3 & 4, the TSS
pic3: plant #1
pic4: plant #9 (the tops are new growth and just started popping out within the past week)
pic5: plant #6 (which was topped long ago)
pic6: plant #3 (also topped long ago)

^correction for above post^ the TSS are plant's #4 & #5. (i know you probably don't care, but it's helpful for me)

my clones are getting kinda big to be in party cups. this cabinet was just sitting there empty, so i converted it into a 3rd closet. this one will hold 4 or 5 one gallon pots. currently it has no intake/exhaust only a mini fan inside for some circulation. a 68w CFL outside lamp is the light source with plenty of room to put clamp lights if it needs them. the two plants in there are from plant #3 of the bagseeds currently flowering in the 600w closet.

pulled #9 last night when lights came on, it's currently sitting in the dark until i trim it up later tonight and hang it. the trichs were almost all cloudy, maybe 10% amber... can't wait to smoke her...
