I've used the phrase ebb and flow several times. It is amazing the absurd shit you come up with.

When I said I didn't read all the cases, there was a point to that. With damn near every law school text book there are companion materials that you can buy. Usually they offer a book that has the cases broken down to legally significant material. Judges love to hear themselves talk, and love to go on endlessly when they write. After my first semester I realized I didn't have to do all of the assigned reading to get a B.
