THCs 3x3 DWC Dreams

Hello, fellow RIUers, I've been meaning to get a journal going over the last few weeks but just never managed to find the time. Now I have a little more.

I have a 3x3 tent using DWC, with dollar store LEDs(what's!?! ), and girls in 3 and 5 gallon buckets. Full details on setup provided below.

Tent: 3x3x6

Light: 7 x 16w LEDs with 7-way splitter. Total of 112w. Puts out roughly 900umol. And is getting 1.5umol/j. Not bad for $48. I also have 4 x 23w 2300K bulbs for clones in the same tent.

Air: 4" inline with carbon filter, stand up fan for circulation, 6" passive intake

Medium: Rapid Rooters in clay pellets

Nutrients/Supps: GH Trio, CalMag+, H2o2

Schedule: 200ppm during first week. 200-300 for first week of actually vegetative stage. 500-600ppm for most of veg. 750-1000 for transition and early flower. 1000-1200 for remaining flower. Nothing but pH for last two weeks.

Strain: Dank Schrader

Seed day: Dec 3, 2019

Planned Harvest: March 14, 2020 (or whenever she is ready)

Before going into a tent I started this little girl in a custom built moving box lined with panda film. It eventually got to be too difficult for me to control the environment to where I was happy, so she went into a tent eventually...

Eventually she started to look just tired... I couldn't figure out what was wrong...

I decided a change in environment and some proper circulation might help a lot. In to the 3x3 she goes.

As you can see I FIMed quite early in hopes for a bush.

I ended up finding some more Dollar Store store gems! Actual 9w screw in blurples... For $3!

I tore them apart to find 6 red and two white diodes. I put 5 into a splitter and was getting 800umols at 12"!

Unfortunately, the love was short lived. The minute they got overheated their output halved. I ended up putting them aside and getting the larger 16w bulbs back in to get ready for flower.

After getting her into a tent and the larger lights on to her she seemed to bounce right back.

I have tried to keep pH between 5.5 and 6. Relative humidity is kept at 55-60% during vegetative stages. I usually have to have a humidifier going on a timer during the light period to keep this RH steady.

Training has consisted of the FIM, and some LST, as you can see in the one image attached.

Flip to flower January 10, 2020

I decided to do an early flower, partially because I'm about as patient as a kick in the face, and second I want to take a clone from her and like to get them in the first week.

The plant seems to love the light. It is a combination of 4 x 2700K bulbs and 3 x 3000K bulbs. Obviously, better for flower, but I have used it for most of its life.

At day 6 of flower she started to show her first hairs!

Day 9 of flower:

I defol'd after one week into flower. She has recovered very nicely I'd say. As you can see, starting to reeeeeally stretch!

I have kept the lights at 10-12" away, but there have been times that she has creeped up to 8" before I could adjust her. Hydro grows too fast!!!

Day 10 Flower:

I took a cutting two nights ago and had been keeping it in a warm lit box with super high humidity (80%) for 24hrs. I then popped it into the tent with the mom. I plan to simply grow this plant until it's ready to harvest 12-12. No nutes at the moment, just pH balanced water.



Mom is doing really well, starting to smell quite nice, and white hairs everywhere now. I will likely just let her do her thing now until near the end. Keeping nute levels around 1000ppm at the moment.

My clone is looking super healthy already, too. Perked right up. I have been keeping her under a dome and 4 x 23w 2700K bulbs.

Day 12 Flower:
She has really bounced back from the little defol. Stretching like crazy, but stems are hearty and thick.

Main stem is already looking lovely:



She is showing very brief signs of light burn, I have been trying to keep the light roughly. 8-10" from the top, but stretching has made it difficult.

I had responded to another post of yours and thought that that was your grow journal. I'm glad I turned off ad blocking on signatures otherwise I might have never found this. It looks like things are coming along nicely for you!

Appreciate it! I decided to start a formal journal here and shut down the other threads. I was bad and didn't link them, I will go do that! Thanks for the reminder.

She really is starting to shine! Very hearty strain! I'm impressed with the flower growth so far. Every night I can't wait to wake her up!

Apparently, I was wrong, the seeds are from California and called Darth Schrader. I assumed it was the same as Dank Schrader, but perhaps not. I can't seem to find much information on it.

By "shutting down the other threads" do you mean that you had them removed or you just stopped posting in them?

The world of weed is strange in regards to names. Someone crosses one strain with another, calls it something that sounds like half of what it was crossed with and it confuses everybody. Oh well, as long as it germinates, grows and provides us with the comfort that we seek all is well.

Yes, just stopped paying any attention to them. I will focus all my energy into here from now on.

She is starting to turn into a furry monster!

How do I edit my first post? Or is that not possible now? I just wanted to clean it up. Or are these designed to be like a chronological journal with lots of pages?

I have a question... I have never had a girl with bananas showing before. What are they, and what do I do with them?



Otherwise, she looks to be coming along. Fattening up, and the stems are really thick now.

Well, shit. I just researched what they are. So now I'm going to go rip them off the plant.

She is starting to bounce back after another small defol. I should have set up some netting. She stretched a lot, and I'm having a hard time keeping the stems separated.
