Ok, so back to the grow room build.
This morning I added the window board I ported a 6in hole in the plywood put my adjustable elbow, and one of the 4 foot lengths of pipe I salvaged yesterday, I applied a Anti fungus spray to the window screen and outside facing part of the board. I also sprayed the entire area down the side of the house, we have cedar chips out there so fungus doesn't thrive there anyway. I also applied a mold mildew reucing carbon vent pad to the port opening. None of this can be seen through the window. The reason for this is the sheer curtain applied to the ouside facing part of the board. By the way the ceder landscaping chips smells wonderfull in the grow as it comes in with the fresh air, and like I mentioned before old stale air going out is transformed into an Italian kitchen smell.
Next I will trim the curtain part on the inside of the room and paint the inside portion of the board flat white like the rest of the garage.
Here is what I started with, and this is what it looks like inside and out.
Also, I failed to mention, I left the curtain to be trimed later so I could adjust it through the port hole, this allowed me to adjust the curtain to appear to flutter in the breaze from the outside. When I get right up to the window on the garage door and side window, cup my hands and try to look in, I can not tell these windows are covered with a aboard. It also blacks out the room.
To hold the window in place and close the light leaks, I cut the plywood 1/8th inch smaller than the reveal in the window molding, and used 1/4 in. weather stripping. This makes the board very tight it doesn't budge.
Because I left the window up 3 inches I locked the tabs. These are high end up sliding vinal windows,if you don't have these type, might I suggest a dowel or locking track blocks to secure them in place,
and keep intruders from just coming in. I've a alarm sensor on the track and had to re-adajust the corrisponding sensor. on the frame.
Next up, I will finish panneling and porting the floating wall, Oh by the way this morning for kicks I took this wall down on a timer. Took 1 person with limited phisical capabilities 1 hr 45 min to disasemble, " and re build " this garage grow!!!! hows that for easy- peesy. System seamless, and seems to be running very well. temps are great. On the note about insulating the door. I think I mentioned these door pannels came insulated. but if you have easy bake oven door pannels, a better idea than gluing them into place is, to get tyvec outside insulation. Cut the pannels to fit each section of the door. This stuff will fit into the sections own frameing without glue.
If cut well will hold itself in place. The idea here is to "NOT" use glues, screw or anything that would otherwise damage a nice rental. This damage is why landlords, even in safe states, don't want us growing in their rentals. Water, fire , and the "I don"t care because it's a rental," attitudes. To change the minds of the misinformed, we must change the growing culture, I.E. safe practices. And caring about the properties we do it in (rental).
