Thanks for the info poly.......I always trust your advice. Am I better off just using the sub pump with tube making a small waterfall in the middle of the bucket.....and not use the air stoness at all?
i'm ready to fucking throw this Pos smart phone and is auto correct out the fucking window!!
im saying use them both, ive not had issue using an air pump. and its probably such a low wattage its inconsequential either way.(with or without)
dude I can't stand that autocorrect shit. Drives me fucking nuts. Luckily I just have an ipod, not a phone, LOL. "luckily..."
Anyway... what I read on that myco thread seemed to imply the bubbles from the air stones are bad news for hyphal development in fungus-focused teas... and that, while there has been some speculation about the possible effects of the impellers of a water pump upon the fungi, it seems to not be a problem... I think I'm gonna try the water pump idea...
not that I know, lol... just what I'm gathering as I try to figure it out m'self... all ears poly...
provide surface area in your tea for fungi to attach to, shredded hyphae to me, sounds good, better for inoculation purposes(sounds like LC). kelp meal seaweed extract straw alphalpha ect. this will keep you fungi around.
Also, I will be trying the water pump idea SOON, because I can still return the air pump, LOL.
Poly, for the water pump idea, is it basically just sticking a section of tubing up out of the water so it bubbles like a fountain and falls back in? Is there anything more particular to the technique than that that I'm missin?
doesnt even have to stick out of the water just create like a ) convex curve in the surface, to floom
or a tube that goes up and shoots the water back into the bucket. like a waterfall both add O2 and im not sure which way i will make mine. flooming requires less parts, the waterfall, probably provides more O2 probably, but if you use a pump piece to add the venturi effect(sucks air in as the water pumps out, for a loss of pressure), then i dont think i would matter which way.
i will probably build a waterfall type(simple one with an elbow and a ziptie) with the venturi pump attachment if i can find it and an air-stone.
