Okay okay I been lazy about pictures. Haha... I lollipopped the SHIT out of everything... I took off a devastating amount of green, really. I felt pretty crazy doing it. But all I was really doing was stripping off growth on the lower nodes that would inevitably end up crap anyway... still, it was a lot of green, I did a pretty intense lollipopping all at once so that I would have to do as little as possible in the future.

Did all that yesterdya... then today I noticed the raspberries pulled so far ahead that I decided to top them to 16 just to give the C99's a chance to catch up. I figured the back to back heavy pruning might stunt them a little, giving the C99's a chance to gain some height. But they're kinda silly lookin right now.

It's REALLY fun to mess with training of various kinds... and this particular method is so hands-on, I'm having a lot of fun getting the 'manifolds' laid out.

Here are some pics from yesterday, before I finished up the lollipopping and before i did that last top on the raspberries today:

These under-cannopies on the C99's show the alternative I went with instead of traditional mainlining... [just the C99's, the raspberries are traditional mainline) since the lower branches have to make up the height of that extra node on the main stem, I tacked down the top branches for an extra node outward, that way the lower branches have "time" to make up the height, and the heads end up pretty much dead even:

I seriously trimmed up crazy amounts. They're okay though. Hearty little ladies. As I said I actually di a little more after these pics, and then topped again today, haha. More pics in a few days if I'm good...

Haha, for sure. It's sort of addictive once you get going. I saw it as preventative... rather than wait for that next node to grow out and trim off even more I went ahead and trimmed them now, before a lot of energy was wasted growing out new shoots... lol. I should have left the fan leaves on that node and just trimmed out the new heads, in retrospect, but oh well, haha. No big deal tho, just lost a little time probably, not a huge concern to me tho...

Got the support rings pretty much finished, put the ones in on the rasp. coughs... haven't put the C99 supports in yet as they haven't quite shot up like the raspberries yet, haha. I'm praying things don't end up too uneven! I've already got bricks under the C99's to raise the up a level, and they're still a shade short. What I should do is try to get the bottoms of the raspberries tacked down a bit lower. They're getting a bit stiff though so I'm not getting much manipulation out of those low parts at this point... might just have to suck it up and let 'em be tall... I'm really going to be pushing the max height of my chamber on this grow... last resort I might have to pull out the wheely carts, that will buy me an extra 5-6" if it comes down to it... though it will be less fun to get at the back plants, it is a solution if it comes down to it.. and since the ceiling is slanted, I can sorta tilt the light to get it higher at the end, and one side will end up with higher lighting than the other... which will work out, I guess, since it looks like the C99's will run shorter, LOL. We'll see though, they might shoot up any day now... I would like that...

Well they're all super-trained so it's no gauge of reference, really... they ended up short because of the way things went, haha. I shouldn't have left the lower node in tact, then I wouldn't have had to tack down the upper node for an extra round like I did... ah well. Anyway, point being, it's the way I trained, not the genetics, as far as I can tell. Not to mention they are two weeks younger, so I do expect them to start shooting up soon. The Raspberries definitely gained a lot of height the last couple weeks.

Haha I know, it just seems like you put in so much work for the reward you get haha. I'm not knocking you in anyway but I'm all about being simple

I have too much free time is all. If I was short on time I wouldn't be fussin' so much... heh. And, since I'm new to all this, I am having a lot of fun with the training aspect of it... it's just something new to me that's a lot of fun so I'm messin with it a lot...

I'm the same man! It's interesting as hell when you can notice all the subtle changes that happen between each day of growth!
Once you get well into flowering it's gets to be boring again, only having to water your girls every 2/3 days and not worry about anything else lol

Exactly... flowering is like torture, so I like to get my hands all over them beforehand...

1 word, perpetual. i got at lest one plant to chop a week, nothing better than that.

That does sound cool.

Crop rotation is something that I am working on.

I am also in the "don't just do something, stand there!" phase, heh heh,
at the beginning of week 7.

Gotta get them hands dirty if you want the best possible indoor yield! Can't allow a plant to just grow like it wants indoors lol...nahhh!
You gotta make the grow where you want them too! Training is ESSENTIAL! I don't even like the way plants look indoor when you allow them to achieve apical dominance....

haha... I would absolutely be doing perpetual if I wasn't battling a combination of space limitations and T5's even-canopy demands for even light exposure... when I get into a bigger room with some HID maybe...

not bigger rooms more, areas.

you could always get more t5s or leds and do lots of small setups that is what i do.(except i used HID in addition to those lights)

Yeah that's what I'd do if I had more room, lol. I'm working inside that tiny closet if I want to stay stealth and filtered. I could theoretically set up outside of it but I do like the sense of security I get from having it tucked away.

Still, I might try to figure out a way to run the fixtures side by side in the closet... I'll have to practically crawl in to water the back ones, but it's not impossible. We'll see what happens... I kinda have the feeling that I might end up with bigger canopies than I'll have space for with the current setup... if so, then I'll mess with spreading them out when the time comes...

My ideal setup with these T5's, I'd wager, would be to spread them side by side so it adds up to a total of 4x4.5'... that's what I wanna do... just need a sliiiightly larger space to do that layout...
