The American PUBLIC'S Confidence in the U.S.

It looks like the head of the Federal Chamber of Commerce met with some of the White House cabinet today, along with other officials to discuss the future of business in the U.S.

What was pointed out definitely made it clear that the confidence level of the public in the economy of the U.S. was low and the White House Administration needs to do something to instill their confidence level again and allow the American public to feel confident enough to re-invest back into the U.S.

When asked what could be done, the Chamber of Commerce reported that it would be helpful to allow private investors to invest in infrastructure of the nation such as nuclear plant construction for cleaner energy and roadway systems, etc.

Hopefully this will help us all out to get our economy back on track.

Do you think it will work? Will the W.H. Admin. take any of it into consideration?

No the White house don't give a shit.
They arn't gonna let people make money investing in infrastructure.
Infrastructure belongs to the people.
i.e. the Government.
As for nuclear power hell what about all our windmill plans?
What about our solar?
If we started building the new types of nuclear power plants
people would have endless cheap power with very little polution.
How are they gonna control our lives if we have clean bountiful energy everywhere?

The problem is government does not or will not recognize that it is THE problem. Government should not be involved in
"fixing" the economy. It is creations such as the Federal Reserve, heavy regulation and the welfare / warfare state that have lead to the fiscal problems and state of despair today. Letting the fools and the system that caused the problem try to fix it will accomplish nothing. The free market is the answer. Always has been.

The Chamber of Commerce people can talk to the Progressives until they are blue in the face and it won't do any good. Remember, to a Progressive, profit is evil.

Hey Vi-

I'm sure you watched the report on Fox News yesterday. What did you think of it? I thought the guy was pretty straight forward about telling the administration that they need to actually DO SOMETHING GOOD for the American public in order to get their confidence back into large investments in major projects.

The goverment could....GET OUT OF THE WAY!
I'm not in the way of the government being truthful with the American people. The democrats and republicans are the ones in the way of government being truthful.

I only trust Joe Schmoe from Podunk Town, Middle America that only makes about $60,000.00 a year to support a family of 4. I'll never trust someone that gets retirement benefits for life if they serve only one term in office or get any type of kickback from a corporation other than a medium priced lunch and a cup of coffee when being lobbied.

Yep, I watched it. The Chamber guy is right on ... but his words are falling on deaf ears. Obama, and those who surround him have one agenda, and one agenda only. And that doesn't include freeing up business ... quite the contrary.

I think nuclear energy is a good idea, and considering the current circumstances with Haiti, I think the U.S. have a chance to really help out all the refugees from there and make it beneficial for all.

Here's what I'm thinking. . . Since Haiti is pretty much in peril and ruin because of the earthquake, and their country is filled with political criminals anyway, the U.S. could adopt Haiti as a U.S. territory. Since over 800,000 refugees already live in the Dominican Republic, the U.S. could allow and financially help the remainder of Haiti citizens to move to the U.S. or join their families in the Dominican Republic. This would free up a large part of land on the face of the earth that is a good distance away from any civilization. The U.S. could warden off the island of Haiti and build about 4 nuclear plants there to help power the U.S. mainland and help to power the Dominican Republic. At the same time. . . since Cuba is between the U.S. and Haiti and because we have a large base of military operation there anyway and the climate between the U.S. and Cuba is becoming starting to thaw by both countries, we (the U.S.) could also agree to help power Cuba in exchange for a more moderate government there that gives their people more civil rights and less dictatorial control.

This earthquake deal is a great opportunity for the Western World to come together and become more cohesive to shore up the economies of all 3 countries involved and gives us all more stability w/in the region.

You want to build multiple nuclear reactors on an island which just had a massive earthquake that wiped out 60% of the infrastructure? On top of that 90% of the citizenry would qualify for welfare as if we don't ALREADY have enough of that, I love weed as much as you but maybe you should lay off it for awhile...

The United States has a responsibility to the people of......The United States, Get a job at the United Nations hippie.
