I'm probably going to build about 3 of these tomorrow, I just have a question
My fans are 120mm 60~80 CFM. So, they're a bit larger than the large pencil cup. I was just going to cut a hole the size of the big cup, put the fan on the outside pulling air through, and the filter on the inside.
Should my hole be the size of the small cup or of the big cup?
I figure if I make it the size of the small cup, it will make sure all of the air that gets pulled through goes through the carbon completely, but it will reduce air flow a lot
But if I use the big cup sized hole, then will the air be pulled completely through the carbon still?
Obviously the bigger hole seems to be fine, I just want to be sure before I go and put giant holes in my cab haha
Also, a more involved question that doesn't necessarily need to be answered, but if someone knowledgeable reads this, maybe they can answer this too.
I have a fairly small sized cab, 42"x35.5"x15". But I plan on using 3 60~80 CFM (on the box it says 60~80, that's what I get for buying cheap fans lol) for exhaust up top, and two 31.5 CFM fans at the bottom for intake. I figured the exhaust fans will lose power because of the filter. So here's the actual question:
Are all of these fans necessary? Haha.
Considering the fact that my cab is not so big. I just want to make sure..
And I'm only going to be using CFLs. I haven't put together the fixture yet so it's hard to say how many.. But either way there shouldn't be too much heat coming off them
Is there such a thing as overkill with the air movement?
Thank you for responses to either questions, or tips. Or comments. Anything really. I'm just excited to get this started haha
