2 years out of a grinder is pretty good. They're not going to last forever...
The space case is a great grinder and they have a titanium version, although I dont know if that solves the
shaving problem that aluminum has. I havent had it for more than 5 years but this thing is built like a tank. Grinds like a champ too.
Ive heard most titanium grinders out there are actually alloy with aluminium, do not know the ratio, i do know that titanium is shit expensive and i can only imagine it being expensive to drill too. I would buy a titanium grinder if i knew it was 100 % titanium but i doubt anyone would be willing spend probably around 200 euro for a real titanium grinder.
I might have made some exarcebated assumptions there or have bad information.
I only smoke bongs pretty much, and i never liked picking nugs and packing a bowl. I always grind it, shape it into a wee ball with my fingers and i actually blow torch it from really far until the weed half burns half vaporises from the heat. It burhns much better when its ground and i find you dont use as much.
Ive always used a grinder, i went through a time i used to buy a plastic 1 for a quid every month cause theyre not really cleanable. Ive used crank grinders for a long time now and theyre pretty tits when it comes to the grinding action, though the screw of the crank will wear off with time (i am sure i have ground at least 1 kilo on the last grinder one but at a time). However since you are not rotating the top part of the grinder just the wheel inside spins, you dont get any of that gunky residue build up on the sides and such. Im a bit afraid a polycarbonate one would do the same since the plastic ones ive used are pretty much unusable after a few weeks.
Im pretty pissed off actually, i was gonna buy 2 grinders but then decided not to. I feel so bare without my grinder.
Also been reading a bit about metals and it seems that anodized aluminum doesnt shave off.
