The best seedling medium from my xp

I have failed 3 times this year to meet my standards of a seedling plant and I finally found the correct mixture for my seedlings. 60% organic mg soil. 15% perlite. 15% sand and 10% peat moss. And three alfalfa meal cubes with about 25 worms. I let that mix cook and let the worms decompose all the alfalfa meal.

I personally have never seen such beefy robust seedlings with 100% identical sprouting. All the seedlings came up within 5 hours of each other.

Suggestions if you guys think im missin something or maybe this could be a mix for someone to use!

Seedlings don't need anything, they feed off the "feeder leafs" the reason for the beefy* seedling has to do with High "N" and alfalfa having a growth hormone, but really,I hope they don't go Hermie on you... just reg pro mix would be the best thing to use till the initial seedling growth has stopped, then transplant, now would be a good time to use a cooked" organic soil mix such as Vic's soil. Myself, I think "super soil" is way over rated and the original mix from vics is best. I use vics and add a blood meal tea (for extra "N") and alfalfa once every other week during veg, I get stalks like celery! then stop the extra N" when flipping the lights to 12/12. JMO

So the nutrients could possibly make them herm at the end. That is interesting. Basically a herm comes from any kind of stress prior to flowering? Or are there certain actions that promote herms?

Just use any seed starting mix. MG seed starter is awesome, and it's a Miracle Gro product(the only good one for cannabis), better than Jiffy imho. Seedlings don't need to eat until about 2 weeks in. My advice, drop the Miracle Gro Soil and the insect eggs it comes with and make your own organic mix (one like subcool's perhaps?)

Subcool super soil is WAY to hot for a seedling,you will burn it. just reg promix and a little worm castings would be great as a start.

I know I was merely suggesting that subcools soil would be a better veg medium than using any miracle grow soil. I recommend a seed starting mix for anything with less than 3 or 4 sets of leaves.

The seed has inclosed in it the "cotyledons" the first leaves* What I like to call (feeder leaves) they act the same as other leaves..... they convert light and CO2 into glucose and water. Basically, it's leaves that exist inside the seed itself so that when the seed germinates, it has an immediate way of producing "it's own food" while the plant is working on getting started in life. To try and force feed this "new Born" anything is just asking for issues, the baby can't photosynthesize much at this point let it take it's course till it has it's first set of "real leaves" then start slow.

Oh ok. That is something I had no idea about. I knew that you can burn seedlings pretty easy but I didnt know why. Thanks guys. I appriciate all this great info.
