I've had a hundred growers tell me that light would get on my roots and make algae but this is my 3rd whtie bucket grow, and it hasn't happened to me yet.
Please join the bubbleheads. It's where your heart is and you obviously know the advantages. Just look at the speghetti factories we are able to produce.
hey today my cfl burnt out had some liquid coming out of it so went to take it off a i drop it right on top my only female plant and broke part of it off can i try to clone that hate to lose it
Well, in addition to the advantages that others have noted I just went to the first page of the Marijuana Plant Problems forum and every single post, with the exception of one, are soil-grows. This seems to be pretty typical, which is why I rarely go to that section any more.
The one post that wasn't soil-related was for a DWC grower whose new clones' roots haven't hit the water yet and they are dying:
It is is broken completely off yes it can be clones. If it is hanging on by even a little bit then tape it up however you can and it will heal itself. Every grower has that experience now and again.
it broke off is cuz i top it so main tops r grown just in one spot it broke from their two tops broke off to be exact one was 19 inches tall but i cut in half to clone other is 7 inches
That should work. I've heard of splitting a long stem into multiple clones lots of times. Look like you have your next grow started and I'll bet the plant will fill in the missing space.
A few things. Start with the most recent post. Thrive alive does help a lot with foliar, but be aware the green bottle is all organic and can mess your res up if you put it in there. But it does help them to stay healthier through the rooting process. I used to use it all the time, but have now switched to Wilt Pruf, with even better results. And as stated above, new clones wilt a little, In my dwc cloner with Wilt Pruf on the cuttings, I have managed to get no wilt and roots under 7 days every time(I mean roots, not little white nubs where roots are forming). And to the painted tub/bucket question on the previous page, If light gets into your nutrient solution, it can easilt cause alge, but thats not a gauruntee it will or cause any negative side effect. But having complete absense of light will make your plants grow quicker and your roots be healthier in general. I originally had my DWC cloner tub not light tight and it worked, but it took 2 weeks for roots, after being redone, I cut the time in half with no change but the light-proofing. So do you have to do it to grow, no. But is it a good idea to promote healthier roots and faster growing plants, YES.
