I don't know what you mean by rock the tap water. All I do is fill the reservoir from the tap, and have 3 air stones aerating for 12 hours before I use the water to evaporate the chlorine and to oxygenate the water. Then I turn the drip system on and sit back and smoke a bowl while they get watered. I feed with teas bi-weekly using a 2 gallon water can.

i gotcha. your aerating the water. i was saying since its tap water not filtered or anything you could run your drip system directly off the house pressure. and not use a pump and have to fill a garbage can. but since you are running stones and removing chlorine that wont work for you.

Even if you use a are stone that doesn't remove the chlorine from the water because the city water puts chlorimine in the water which can not be romoved with the air stones your going to need a hydrologic system

I actually have a hydrologic system the small boy, I don't even use it anymore it just sits there and collects dust. I just fill up my 32gal rubbermaid garbage can and let the water set for 24hrs., that naturally evaporates the chlorine in the water.

So I'm wasting my time with the air stone? What's another cheap way to get rid of the chlorine/chloramine and also does chloramine kill the beneficial bacteria too.

I heard that Ascorbic Acid from citrus removes chloramine. I have been adding lemon juice like Dave from Weeden.

Not sure of how to get rid of it. Chlorine will evaporate but chloramine doesn't. It's much worse than chlorine. If you can find a way to remove it, it would significantly improve your yield and quality. Yes it is very damaging to beneficial bacteria. It's chlorine with ammonia.

Yes, citric acid (lemon juice) and/or ascorbic acid will break the bond of ammonia and chlorine that makes a chloramine, and allows the chlorine to off gas. You gain a bennifit from doing this as the Free Ammonia that remains in the water is a useable form of nitrogen. Continue to areate your water as the extra desolved oxygen only helps.

if your'e really interested in using filtered watered Bud i would suggest a big boy from hydrologic. it is the same filter i use here. it doesnt need changing very often and provides 7 gallons a minute of filtered water. u can then run your drip system after the filter and avoid the whole garbage can deal. except for teas ...
