[/IMG] Hello, this is my first time posting. I've been reading this site for about two years though. I've searched for answers to my questions for HOURS. I'm hesitant to post a "What's wrong with my plant?" post, but here it goes. I have a few that I can't seem to answer my self.
My plant (I only have one this time):
-Bag seed. Really killer bag seed that I have grown before.
-4 Gallon Bucket with MANY holes drilled in the bottom.
-150W HPS Light
-Fox Farms Happy Frog Soil
-No Nutrients
-Distilled Tap Water ( I was lazy and didn't PH the water until last week. My runoff was 5 and my tap water starts at 8 . Runoff has been 7 since then.
My biggest problem right now is the state of my leaves. I'm getting The Claw all over, and I have been for quite some time. Flowering started 2 weeks ago. It started before that. I make sure to let my soil dry out pretty well before I re-water so I can't imagine that it's over watered. I haven't fed it any nutrients so I doubt that it's Nitrogen Toxicity. Also, the tips of the leaves are crispy and brown as well as curled up like an elf's shoe. So they claw downward and then curl back up tightly. The farther down on the plant the more prevalent this symptom is.
I'm seeing evidence of a pest. The leaves all have splotches where it appears to be missing a layer and it's silver and shiny. Other leaves are covered in shiny black specks. I've inspected the plant for bugs and found none. I've looked on the underside of the leaves too.
Another question I've had is about my plant being stretchy. I understand that plants stretch to get to the light. I understand that MH is better for veg than HPS. I've been growing from start to finish with HPS this grow and I kept the light within 5-8 inches it's whole life. My last (first) grow I vegged with CFLs and it was less stretchy but still VERY stretchy. If you can't tell in the pic, it's about 6' tall now.
My final symptom is that it's a Hermaphrodite. About 80% of my bud sites had pollen sacs right next to the flower buds. I've heard that stress causes this, and I'm not discrediting that. However, my first grow I made a ton of serious newbie mistakes. I planted 3 seeds and got 3 ladies, no balls. This one sprouted balls e'ry where. WTF!? lol
I just want to keep this plant healthy enough for me to harvest as much bud as possible. (I'd rather have seedy shitty herme bud than none at all)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
