ive got the downward claw, they are Jack herer about two weeks into veg.. its not from nutes as i saw it start happening before i added nutes. the God Bud doesnt have the issue just the JH..
what fixes the claw? epsom salts?
ive read so much conflicting info about the claw and why it happens but i know its not from hot temps, over watering or ph etc.. has to be to much of something in the soil so im guessing i need a real good flush or a shot of salt?
i would really appreciate some help please

To me, the claw is one of the most mystical problems... it could be all sorts of things and everyone gives differents solutions and diagnosis. I have that problem too and i think, in my case, is moisture stress, but who knows... i haven´t been able to fix it.

Oh no...'The Claw' ! !
For me, it is usually a sativa + heat + nutes.
Cool the space, and either dilute the formula or change the frequency.
I sometimes change the formula and frequency.

More air flow just makes the air drier. They don't like that either.
So it isn't enough to add a fan or two.

What is your humidity?
How close are the lights?

lights are about 2ft from the tops cause they are on a booster seat at the moment(hate having to adjust the light itself cause its strapped up) and the humidity in the tent is about 40%. The GB is loving it and could see it liking even more.. i suppose i could drop the inlet fan to 1/3 of the speed and see how that goes. i dont water any plants till the soil is absolutely dry but ill try and leave her till she is about to wilt. the claw isnt on all the leaves, just the ones before the top and the 4th set but more so on the outer nodes. im really hoping thi will be a simple fix like adding some epsom salts. they are all in the same soil, same pot size and everything else is the exact same as well.. temps are steady at 81.5/82 and havent given them any lights out period yet; theyve all been topped at the same time, same way etc. gotta need some salts, right?

Doesn't sound like the lights are too close or that the room is too dry.
Have you flushed yet?
If you are on RO water, you need the cal mag.
Got any pics? We always say ' a picture is worth a thousand words'.

I havent flushed hard, but a good amount of run off came out. I put the water in a large jug and let it settle for 36-48 hours, never had a problem before. Last feed i actually added a bit of calmag and was hoping that might help, but the last few sets of leaves dont have the claw, just a few sets here and there from earlier. I will see if i can get some pics up tomorrow, i should have done that already but been so busy lately and havent checked up on here as often as i should be :(

well looks like the JH will need a good flush next watering! The Gb loved the salts though, JH didnt change so heavy flush will be in order

I added a link here for you since it appears that you are on city water/tap water. Hope it works. 5 day sit time for chlorine and chloramines. Settling is good if you can filter, or decant off the cleaner water. With the hard water we have here, freezing it creates a flocculant that settles to the bottom like snowflakes. Its gross. Plants cant assimilate it, so it just clogs up the soil or hydro system.

If the claw has stopped, thats great. Do you think it was the slight flushing or the magnesium?

It could be almost everything and everyone gives differents alternatives and analysis. I have that issue too and i think, in my situation, is wetness pressure, but who knows.

Yeh, I think you're right. I may have been thinking of the 'canoe claw', where the whole leaf folds down the middle AND curls under at the tip.
Regular claw is usually Nitrogen toxicity. It's hard to get a handle on it till you know your strains back and forth, and gain some (years) of growing experience.
