I'm not into driving 30 miles one way to pay $10 bucks for "organic" carrots. I'll just avoid them, it's easier and cheaper that way. I guess you completely missed the point that the government is fucking with our food in order to keep the sheeple in the pen. It would seem to me that they've already got you on the hook.

No I'll feel prepared when it happens. I just was driving my 1978 EMP proof truck. I'll be one of the only people in this town that will still be driving if an EMP happens. I already know how to grow my own food, and collect things for survival incase of complete breakdown of society. I'll still be cooking, driving, eating, healing my own ailments. Meanwhile the doubters will expect those of us that prepared to share what we have, and I won't have any trouble turning people away.

The world can't continue forever the way things are. Something is going to happen, it's just a matter of time.

Well Miss ... we certainly agree on this issue. I only eat organic veggies, very little red meat and only organically raised chicken. My main protein sources are legumes and fish. Our "normal" meats are pumped full of hormones and steroids. I read every label before buying ANY food. Our foods are packed with High Fructose Corn Syrups that causes Type-2 diabetes and obesity. Diet products are full of Aspertame that causes severe allergies in some people, even symptoms of MS. The only dairy I use is butter, yoghurt and very little cheese. No milk. In fact, I haven't had milk in about ten years. I drink coffee, but I order my coffee beans green and unroasted over the net. www.sweetmarias.com They are grown organically on small family farms and I roast them myself in small batches. Other than that, the only thing I drink is bottled water. I haven't had a soda in over five years. Can't stand the stuff now because its full of High Fructose Corn Syrup and is WAY too sweet ... sickenly so. I read recently that the average American is ingesting 58 gallons of HFCS every year from both sweetened drinks and processed foods.

I'm wondering if you're eating organic veggies or not? Maybe organically grown carrots wouldn't bother you.

I had lettuce trigger a reaction once and that really upset me, I'm a lettuce lover, I can sit down and eat a whole head of lettuce, just peel it off the head and eat it. I can't count the number of entire heads of lettuce I consumed when I was pregnant with my daughter 20 years ago. I used to wash it and stick the head in a bowl and eat it like it was popcorn, it used to kind of gross my husband out a bit.

Can iceberg head lettuce be grown hydoponically? Anyone know?
 
My daughter was due April 5 the year I had her, I was so scared she'd be born on April fools day, I was prepared to hold her in until after midnight if that happened.

Yes, and very successfully too. I have a friend who grows all of his veggies hydroponically in his back yard. Lettuce, peppers, squash, tomatoes, melons ... Almost everything that can be grown in dirt, can be grown hydro. And, you can use organic nutrients like Pure Blend. Its not that expensive either if you make your own systems. PVC pipe, RubberMaid tubs, some pumps ... and the free light of the sun. :)

I suspect that you're allergic to the pesticides commercial growers use. That's why I eat only organic veggies. I hardly ever peel what I eat and make veggie juices a lot. So ... no pesticides for me.

I think it has more to do with preservatives that are being used. Benadryl is a way of life for me, I take that shit like some people take vitamins.

I am a companion gardener. I use other plants as pest repellents. With all the poisons in our foods and water it's no wonder that today 1 out of 3 adults have some form of cancer.

LOL.. my daughter was born the day after Mother's Day.. I missed it by 6 hours! LOL.. I was walking around all day Mother's Day, hoping it would help..

I may be wrong, I'll have to look it up again.. but I think that the rate was bumped up to 1 in 2 will have some type of cancer in their lifetime now... :evil:
 
I was talking about current cancer rates, not projected cancer rates. I bet 1 in 2 will eventually have some form of cancer. It's ok for compaines to give everyone cancer, just as long as we don't use pot to ease our misery. I'm so sick of the way things are, I really am starting to hate not only our government, but I'm also ashamed of our country.
 
well im glad to know that there are some people out there who feel me... sometimes when talking to my peers i feel like i am some kind of whack job because everyone else is so clueless and couldnt even imagine one percent of what i am talking to them about... really scares me sometimes and makes it quite evident just how effective mass media control and eductation indoctrination works... freaky

i almost feel like we are the romans reincarnated with flat screen tvs and the internet

and has anyone watched V for Vendetta? that movie scares the shit out of me, i feel like thats exactly where we are headed

That movie was awesome, but FloJo, I disagree, I think we already more than halfway to that kind of society.

We have seen ourselves as a nation increasingly willing to trade our freedom for mythical and non-existent safety, and thus we have shown that we are stupid.

We are Safe because we are Free, we can not be Free because we are Safe.

Safety can only be described as Slavery.

Slaves don't have to worry about where their next meal is going to come from, nor do they have to worry about paying rent, or paying utilities. They are probably unlikely to have to worry about health care.

No, all those that increasingly press for the government to promise us more and more things are doing nothing more than advocating for our enslavement at the hands of government, and I don't know if all these people are fools or idiots, but I personally don't trust the government that much, and I can't believe that there are people out there that would.
 
oh i totally agree with you, i think we are more than halfway honestly and will be worse than that in the end. it just scares the shit outta me still.

we have republicans allowing corporations and banks to take over the gov. we have democrats enslaving the people with welfare and assistance programs, and we the people for the most part are so damn ignorant that even when cnn does snippits of our dark future to come it still doesnt matter because rock of love is on tv!! we have too many distractions and entertainment that drive us away from the truth and things of importance... while we are glued to the tv at home our gov is selling us down the river... and the sickest part is WE LOVE IT!! at least the "sheeple" do.

Did you see where the European markets were actually shut down last night due to a huge drop? Our government is looking to lay the blame on just a few people. Way to ignore the larger problems at hand.

I also saw that the oil cartel is pissed that everyone has cut way back on buying gas so they are cutting oil production to try to drive the price back up. What a bunch of fuckers. We need to start overcharging them for food.
