Thats the point tho isnt it the more we try different techniques and publish the results the more knowledge we all gain right ?
As far as Clarke well as far as im concerned its a really good reference source for its time and has helped many of us
I remember reading it 18 years ago and it helped a lot its really comprehensive at a time when information on the topic was scarse
whether I agree to every word he says is another matter
Ive tried defolification and I found it to be inconclusive ? there were to many variables
I guess the end of the day a comparison of the grams per watt in a side by side trial is the only way to tell
The argument is the stress of defolification compared to the added benefit of deeper penetration into the plant
the common thought frrom most established authors is that it will have a negative effect
Personally Ill sit on the fence for now
